    Damn now that’s impressive that it actually stayed together. Isn’t that top pan cast? Thanks for the pics and good luck with the repair.

    I wheeled a CJ7 for many years. I tore up so much crap it’s insane. Rocks can be very unforgiving, the driveline takes a brutal beating.

    The best advice I can give is buy the thickest skid plates you can find. Remove and inspect driveline if you see impact damage.

    Of course it’s hindsight, but maybe it will save someone else.

    Haha, yeah, my offroad career has been basically marked by huge amounts of fun, followed by many, many hours of watching youtube videos on how to fix my screw ups. I have organically discovered about every weak point on the Tacoma that everyone already knew about.

    Well it started dumping oil on the ground the second it happened so I think "stay together" is relative :D I don't know for sure, but I believe that upper oil pan is aluminum, someone else mentioned that earlier.
