Don’t have much faith in YouTube influencers. Truck King isn’t too terrible. Was quite against the 3rd Gen until I drove it, will probably be the same for the 4th.

As for NVIDIA, now only if we could figure out how to get AI to earn money for us, so we could be out exploring rather than physically working and posting on this silly forum wasting time at work so not to deal with reality… :p

Had one really good shop in Tucson, he was a Toyota savant. He unfortunately retired, plus we moved. Haven’t found anything close to him here, trust me I have looked and looked.

Depends on the dealer, had great experience with the one here. Private shops not so much, caught them in flat out lies and less than par repairs, some so bad I had to fix it myself. Which, I am so done working on shit.

People who don’t catch those type of upcharges is on them for not doing research. My dealer doesn’t pull that shit. Found the one I use to be cheaper than private shops. There are three within a 1/2 hour of one another, maybe it keeps them honest.

YMMV for sure. There are some people that shouldn’t be working on their own vehicles ya know.

Nah, usually saves a ton of money. Yeah, there are a few who can screw up an oil change, those are special people.

Yup. If you can’t remove a drain plug and oil filter and then replace them you are indeed special.

I just got this email from Nucar North Attleboro.

We have a 2024 Toyota Tacoma SR5 we thought you'd be interested in.

Wonder if they actually have it at the dealership or just on order.

It can, it is more about my time than anything. Much rather be sitting in the lobby posting on here annoying wastingtimewhatever, than crawling around on the ground. Lol!

Don’t have to worry about getting rid of the oil either, used to take it out to the dump…it’s typically windy where they have you dump it, fucking blows everywhere. Done doing that shit, done… :)

Oh…we all make mistakes, no one is perfect. I once forgot to put the gasket on the filter on my F250, probably exhausted from work trying to do a quickie oil change. drove down the road a aways, it fell off. Oil everywhere, glad I caught it before I destroyed the engine. Had my buddy run me another filter and some oil. That was a mess to clean up.

Don't you live in Alabama @SwollenGoat or am I confusing you with someone else? I figured in the south you could dump oil anywhere! Here in Okie country my white trash neighbors like to use the motor oil to help keep the fire going.

Do you mean a waste oil drip into a wood burning stove? I think around here most of the waste oil is used for heating at places that have waste oil burning furnaces.

Oh no, I'm talking taking the bottle of used motor oil, pouring it directly onto their trash/scrap pile to get rid of the oil.

Confusing me with someone else. Idaho, which some say is the Mississippi of the PNW…

Used to save it up, so only one trip a year. Somewhere around 20 gallons from all the vehicles. The landfill frowns upon doing that much at once, iirc the limit is 3 gallons. One time guess my straps were loose tying the buckets in against the tailgate, someone pulled out in front of me on the way to, had to jump on the brakes, two of the 5 gallon buckets fell over shot off the lids pouring oil all over the bed of the truck…that was fun!
