Oh man, riding to work today in <40 degree weather was actually enjoyable with the heated grips on. I didnt even need the glove liners!

Leather pants zip to textile jacket, Have just under the knee high boots that go over the leather pants, leather gauntlet gloves - check, extra CE rated back protector - check, and of course a good helmet.

I BELIEVE my gear selection was based on looking up the necessary items for a track day on the 919. I still wear the leathers with knee pucks n all when im out canyon mobbing on the Tenere - I get weird looks - then go drag a knee haha.

Gear indicator, never thought those worked well on bikes that didnt have one already built in as they simply just count up / down movements of the shifter, not actual shift drum rotation position. I could easily go up to every bike and make a shift but not actually shift gears.

I had one on my ZRX1200, both FZ1’s and had one on the 22 Klx. They all worked just fine.

yup sounds like you got it all. As long as your textile jacket isn't mesh lol. I don't think they like those at the track. TBH I would probably advise leather as well, i think that's the preferred but I'm sure most would allow textile as long as it zips.

You ever watched King of the Baggers? I'll get clips here and there on instagram, wild what they do with those things lol.

The one I put on my bike doesn't count movements of the shifter at all. It's plugged into the ecu it reads from the gear position sensor

I think a lot of them just read speed and RPM from the ECU and figure out which gear you’re in as well.

You can drag knee on the Super Tenere?! That’s impressive. I don’t want to even try.
