And signed Flacco to a minimum contract instead? Never would have happened. No one could have seen that coming.

Instead the Browns would have either stuck with Mayfield, who at that time was not playing particularly well, or maybe acquired Jimmy G, or maybe drafted a QB. 2022 was a terrible draft class for QBs with the exception of Purdy.

Which free agents would have made them a better team than they are currently without Flacco?

 

It was just a ‘what if’ vs saying it was a stupid move. The only thing stupid about it was the 100% guaranteed contract.

 

There's also a chance of Flacco facing the ravens in these playoffs.

I have it on good authority that Jim Tomsula will be the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

 

Hahaha. Antonio Pierce should get a full season as their HC and go from there. Unless they can land Jim Harbaugh. But that won’t be cheap.

 

Yup, Pete out as head coach, say whatever you will, the man will be in the hall of fame. He changed the way people perceive how professional football culture could work. He was endlessly positive, supportive and respectful but also pragmatic and critical, especially of himself. If you disagree it’s because you either don’t understand because you can’t recognize how good he made it for our city or you do recognize and are just jealous. 3 losing seasons in 14 years, made the playoffs 10 times, won a super bowl and lost one by a bad call/throw and/or exceptional defensive play. It was time to move on, but nothing but love for the man.

 

I remember him as Pete the cheat who is a sell out at USC.
