Chiropractor this morning for me then 1:30 this afternoon I get to speak at a special town meeting pertaining to this giant solar facility that supposed to go in across from my house . I get a whole 3 minutes . The good news is that the solar company never negotiated a new lease on 60 acres of the near 300 they had ( there are 3 different parcels and land owners ) and it was purchased by some rich folk (I assume) that oppose the project. So they must redesign the project and they are in the beginning stages of a draft permit which runs out around August . The 60 acres contained some of the main access roads for the project . We all hope this is the beginning of the end for this bullshit .

 

My guess is that @mit88 knows you were joking, but we'll see

Until those rich folks put a housing development on that land and all the NY City yahoo's move in...

Been fearing something going in behind me, but worse case it will just be houses. No public water or sewer here so they can't put in apartments...

 

Without subsidies (your tax dollars), solar can't possibly work in the northeast.
It's absurd.

 

It is being leased back to the farmer ,basically been corn fields for the last 30 years I remember. It’s rich city folk that most likely bought it because they don’t want to see these solar panels. Plenty of city people already here along with some famous types also .

 

We got the DC and Virginia rich folk buying up property around here due to the ski resort 13 minutes from my house. Not unusual to see a Porsche or Lambo driving around here. Most have been super cool, but some are being troublesome. Out of towners have been plugging their electric vehicles into the street lamps in town and it's causing a stir, and rightly so. They don't pay taxes around here...

 

Right now across NY state there are 15 solar or turbine projects in the permitting phase . That’s obviously not including the ones that have been approved and are being built

The city people here have their second homes here and I’m guessing they make up most of the tax base . Some of the lake homes 2 miles from me are paying upwards of $50-75k in yearly taxes . Andrew McCarthy the actor . from Weekend at Bernie’s lives on the lake . CEO from T-mobile , John Varvatos famous clothing designer ect . Lots of money around here ,you can’t touch real estate unless you’re well off . We have ski resorts and golf courses also . There are more people living here that are implants than locals now . Especially since the VID
