Damn it! Had a wreck today in my Tacoma! Not sure if it's totaled or repairable. Slid of ice into light pole. Driver's side airbags went off and it looks like it's Tboned. Missed taking pictures, had it towed for now!

Yup! I am hoping it hit hard enough to bend the frame so they total it! Don't think it will ever drive the same if they ended up fixing it! Let's see what they do! But I miss it already!

Left side is a little bruised coz that's where the taco took the hit! Shattered ego, but otherwise OK! I wasn't going too fast, but the taco took out the light pole in the median clean! Thankfully didn't hit anyone else! Dogs seem OK too!

Glad to hear you're alright. Sorry about the truck

You've had enough repair to cover this whole thread

Of course! Filed claim already. Let's see what they do. May ask you guys for help navigating the process. First wreck!

I know it's my fault, but honestly it wasn't that great in the snow. I was driving my Gx460 before the wreck and now driving the landcruiser. Both are so much better on the snow!

never really had issues with the tacoma in snow as long as all the traction stuff is turned off... with it on i never liked how it handles

It almost killed me twice in the default mode. Whatever the alternate mode does works better for me.

Had it in 4wd. Juts slid on its own! Of course got cited for driving too fast for the conditions because policemen said no one else is slipping!

I told him that's coz I was the first here and now that they seen me, everyone is being extra careful! No cigar!

So this varies pretty wildly across years and trims, but I'm 99.9% certain this is how it for my 2015 base model:

0 clicks (default on startup) = automatic throttle reduction and abs activation when traction is lost
1 click = only abs activation when traction is lost
click and hold = all off until you hit a certain mph, then you get some of the high speed stuff back

I was trying to cross 291 in Liberty both times in the snow and lost traction. Nanny system dropped my throttle down to regain traction leaving me in prime position to almost be t-boned.

i mean that sounds about right with all the 2nd gens tbh both my 13 offroad and my 15 sr5 do stuff like that idk about getting anything back in speed since the only thing i notice is abs

but i usually have the click and hold option on my trucks. i still feel abs

It's not a performance button or anything, but 1 click should remove the throttle control part of the TRAC system since you and I have the same year. If you hear ABS at anything over 20-ish MPH that's the high-speed sway control or something.

The naming scheme for these systems is ridiculous. I have no idea what anything is called anymore.
