My friend Greg has a 2011 Corolla in that exact color, and it's a 5-speed! I got to drive it once. Greg has the Corolla and a 2017 DCSB TRD Sport 6-speed, neither of which he drives very much. The Corolla has about 50K miles, and the Taco has only like 20K miles. I pondered buying the Corolla from him, but even if Greg didn't refuse to sell it, he still smokes like a straight-piped Cummins rolling coal, and he smokes in the car...

 

It's hard to get that smoke smell out of vehicles, hate it.

 

Are they able to get a new module fairly quickly?

 

Yes, but this is one those situations where it's more economically feasible to have the dealer do it. The estimate from my mechanic is about two grand for parts and labor. I am unemployed and while I do have money, it is untouchable right now due to the account I have it in. I am going to have pay my parents back for this, and my mom wants me to buy a newer vehicle with lower miles; I presently have a line on a 2015 AC 4x4 V6/6-speed with only 56K miles, owned by a service manager at the dealership. I will sell the 2010, use the money from the 2010 as partial payment, and take out an interest free loan from the National Bank of Mom and Dad to pay off the difference. I have great credit, but loans on new vehicles are bad enough and I would likely go into cardiac arrest if I saw the interest rate for a truck that's nearly a decade old!

These are pretty nice trucks, enjoy!

 

It's a 4x4 with the same engine as my truck, so it accelerates like it's got a load of anvils in the bed, but I love everything else about it!

The only way l could ever do the 4 banger in a 3rd Gen is with a MT, unfortunately that combo was only available in 16 and 17.
