So I have a 08 Tacoma and I want to lift the rear at about 8” but was wondering if anyone knows the max height I can get in the rear before adding driveshaft spacer bc I have a 10-12 and the rear lift comes with extensions and rear leaf springs but I want to put blocks so I can take in an out quicker bc I like squat so I’m always lifting and lowering the rear but with 6” blocks.

Sounds like you need a driveshaft with a longer slip joint if you're going to be doing that. personally I'd leave well enough alone, either lift it or leave it at that height. Going back and forth is only going to create long term problems for your drivetrain, let alone your wallet...you need to replace u bolts each time you unbolt the axle.

    bruh what
    Why

    6” blocks
    8”
    Why

I’m pretty sure there are folks running 35’s, 37’s, etc who do not have that lift height. Not to mention, the Tacoma has an IFS from a sedan. Not a solid axle.

also, driveshaft spacer is advertised for any lift at all. People including myself run it with 0-3” lift. It’s cheap.
Above that you’re gonna have problems that a cheap little spacer is not going to address.

You're gonna experience driveline angle issues well before any length issues.

I go from -3” in the rear to stock to 3” blocks 6” lift blocks and I just want to go little higher but I change the rear hieght so much I don’t want a spacer for the driveshaft. My drift shaft angles are ok at all those heights so I’m just trying to find the limit. It’s not my daily just something I take to shows and like finding things to work on an change the look of it.

Recreational vehicle work...not my cup of tea. To each their own. If you want to find the limit...droop out the rear till the slip yoke slides all the way out. There's your limit...

On another note, I'm curious.....what length shocks are you running in the rear? Where does it sit in its travel at ride height when lifted 6" - 8"? Do you run the same rear shocks with each setup you run? -3", stock, 3", 6".....etc?
