Guessing you didn’t read the article I linked.

per the article “For the 2023 AMI, vehicles are judged through five criteria: assembly location, parts content, engine origin, transmission origin and U.S. manufacturing workforce. Cars.com vetted 388 vehicles to arrive at the 100 that made this year’s index.”

It's just assembled in Mexico I believe. Parts are sourced from the US and Japan etc.

Depends....For year and years you heard, "I only buy American made vehicles", "I won't buy that Jap car", etc......

I find it laughable when you have some foreign brands using more American made parts and made in the US than some of the American brands. Also I am not sure that there are really any American brands left. What really defines a brand by being American anyways?

Well, I was hopeful the Tacoma assembly would at least partially remain in the USA, but that’s long gone now. So it really doesn’t matter anymore.

The 4Runner, Land Cruiser and Lexus GX 550 are all made in Japan.

Kinda puts any debate to bed.

Does anything really matter? ;) :)

“Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. For all those chest thumping ‘Murica fuck yeah types. Looks like they all should be driving Honda Ridgelines instead of their jacked up brodozers…

Hasn’t the Tacoma been built in Mexico for awhile now? Mine is 9 years old and was built in Baja Mexico. The sticker says Baja California probably hoping that some buyers would think it was made in the US. :D

I agree, but I can say that about any trim of any truck sadly.

That 55K gets you a very nice Tacoma, but dang that’s a lot to fork over.

Well they will find out really quickly if sales tank . Also inflation has cause electronics and plastics to sky rocket so a lot of this jump has to do with material increases

And it's not even the loaded version.

Ridiculous. 54k for that??? No way the hybrid one will be worth it.

Not really seeing the value in that. Thought 3rd Gen pricing was a little high for what it is. A compromise vehicle that does well at nothing. With 4G pricing it only amplifies it.
