it does feel like the truck is being held back a bit, how would you diagnose dragging brakes?? front or back or both??

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Take a pic of the front brake rotors.

jack one tire/wheel up off the ground at time. It should move somewhat freely. If you have to use excessive force its dragging and or caliper or guide pins might be corroded.

*edit* obviously chock the wheels if you take the rear end up together. Release e-brake in neutral...etc. follow safe procedures when jacking one wheel off the ground...

Another method. This is what I do after adjusting the self adjusters in drum brakes.

Find a slight inclined road. You can even use the driveway ramped area between the sidewalk and street.

What you want to do is get just the right amount of momentum, then put it in neutral, the goal being having the momentum bring you to a stop on the incline without using the brakes. What should happen is it’ll roll to a stop, then roll downhill. If it stops and rolls the brakes aren’t dragging. If it stops and doesn’t roll the brakes are dragging.
