I just change my oil and found these metal speckles in the bottom of my drain pan. Also there was some in the oil cup catch from the oil filter. It doesnt stick to a magnet. Any ideas?

doesn’t look like a lot. 1GRFE supposedly has iron liners. What other wear items are made of I don’t know. I doubt crank and cams are aluminum. Heads probably are.

but unlike some cars with cams riding in weak aluminum covers holding them acting as bearing surface, the 1GR probably has cam bearing caps of a metal stronger than aluminum. Or so I would hope.

if it’s me; I put good oil every 5k, try to avoid excessive idle, and don’t really worry about what drains out. If you are, there’s oil analysis services to see what the wear metal is.

or physical inspection whether that be examining things with a borescope or naked eye. Like the next time you do valve cover gaskets peeking underneath.

if the engine is running properly and not making abnormal noises then it’s probably fine.

if something does break (like a car having rod knock), seeing particles after doesnt change anything anyway. Theres no magic can of flush. It just confirms what’s already known, that significant repair is needed.

The 1GR uses 1 bearing under the intake cam of bank 1.
You read that correctly, 1 only. The caps have none. So, you have half a bearing. LOL.

    Anyways, OP.
Not much you can do at this point.
I’d guess it’s timing component related maybe?
But who knows. All you can do is run it
    If it’s a big enough, you’ll know.

I guess so. Maybe not ideal. Better than a B8 2.0T

Looks like aluminum casting flash pimples coming off. Does NOT look like classical wear particles. They’re almost never round like that
