    Thank you for everyone. Yes, he's at peace now and I know he will always be there. He lives on in projects as well.. some I still have and use. Hell, I drove up to visit him and show him the Taco when I first got it and he helped me do the first mods to it. Homemade custom satoshi grill and some hellas behind the grill.

    Sorry to hear that Josh. Never easy losing somebody so influential on shaping you as a person. Keep your head up, I'm sure he was proud.

    Please accept my condolences. Reach out to your relatives again and again. Your grief and others grief will ebb and flow and family is the best remedy for healing. Often after the initial period of mourning ends and people stop visiting as often is when people have time to process grief and people will feel the weight of loss the strongest. We lost my Father in 2020 and my mother this past June, both to COPD. My mother had moved in with us for almost a year and was able to have her end of life on her terms with the help of some truly incredible hospice services.

    Thank you. I had heard others mention how they felt when their parents were gone and can honestly say that while I listened to what they had to say and I thought that I understood what they meant, it holds a different meaning for me now that they both have passed. If you are fortunate enough to have your parents/grandparents/loved one still alive then ask them the questions you want to know now. You will thank yourself in the future.

    Thank you. As ones body wears out and while we always miss those who leave us it is not always bad that someone passes. Each life is a different story with its own ending and sometimes a happier ending occurs sooner rather than later. Humor was always present with my parents and that has been a comfort to my family. Some would view some of the humor as going too far but I am certain that if my parents were alive to hear what we say they would be laughing with us and contributing to the banter. I am happy to hear that you were able to spend some time with your grandfather before he passed Josh.

    @ACEkraut I know what you mean.. and maybe how you feel. This last year has been pretty tough in that regard for me... as I dont have anymore father figures after my Stepdad suddenly passed from a heart attack this last April and now my Grandpa.. not to mention I lost my Dad to suicide 10 years ago this last Halloween as well... AND my wife and I's cat of 10 years suddenly passed 3 months ago from a heart attack.

    Was hoping this next year would be better.. but its started kind of rough to be honest with my Grandpa passing.. but it was expected, so.. I cant start this year off too rough on myself.

    You’ve got the right attitude. :thumbsup: Good opportunity to step up & try to fill the boots left vacant or at least try best you can. The more you give…the more you’ll receive. :)

    You have weathered the storm so far so that proves you can handle what is being thrown at you. My wife is a LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) so I get therapy every day! :eek::rofl: Having said that, there is a big benefit to being able to open up to someone who does not know you and is ethically bound to keep your conversations private. That way you can ease your burden without having to worry about rehashing it again until you are meeting the next time. Many people have been there and done that. Using forums like this where you connect with decent people can work quite well also. Probably the hardest thing to do is to seek help when you need it. I am great at offering this advice and absolutely suck at taking it. But sometimes being there for someone else also helps you to deal with what you have to deal with. You are not alone.

    thank you for all of this... hits home for sure.

    This forum and its members has been here for me over the years, even back when initialing losing my Dad. I am always thankful for the good people here and try to reciprocate when I can.. as like you.. it's easier said than done and I suck at taking my own advice.

    Sorry for both of your losses.
    Whoever said times heals knew what they were talking about; although (luckily) the memories stick around, time will heal most of the pain. Best wishes to both of you and your families.

    Sorry for your loss. :pray::pray:

    At the same time, how awesome that you could learn from him & he could see you grow and mature in a skilled trade.

    Every job he will still be at your side, impressed with your work.

    this for sure. I was always so happy and proud to show him my career progress and overall progress in general skills over the years.. which usually reflected in the truck mods. Every time I would visit he made it a point to walk around the truck and see what new things I did to it and watch it progress over the last 10 years. Even up to the end.. he would ask what truck I drove and say he liked this or that.. noticed something new, etc.. even though he had seen it months prior.

    @six5crèéd the verdict is, the index finger picks are still too big! :annoyed:
    The middle finger picks are ok, but they're not metal which they probably should be. :annoyed:
