With an 18” barrel I would use a rifle tube and buffer and a fixed stock. WORD, spend your money on a trigger, bolt and Carrier and barrel . Carbine with a 16” barrel, carbine tube-buffer and a adjustable stock is more manageable. But really if it’s your first you’re going to change everything 4 or 5 times before your finished.(if you think tacos are bad the AR bug is far worse, you are on a very slippery slope my friend)

What I got out of it he was saying if you got all 10 things you’d be set up for any situation. Idk how you’d carry all that with you for just in case but I guess that may be a different video. Not bad suggestions though

Any situation. Well, hopefully the other guy doesn't have a javelin missile. Or an Apache helicopter.

Just another prior SEAL selling ideas to non-SOF masses. That’s the content.

    Guys love it.

Didn’t watch the video, and I’m not going to. Never seen the channel. I just recognize the dudes Chadds face under that crumb duster he grew out.

Show off, get likes? IDK, I would like to have that thermal scope.

I made a comment on the video mentioning (being he didn't) that the lower in the case would need to be a registered SBR receiver to be used with the shorty upper. I got a response from one of his followers : These are items that are needed for "the range." I don't think that would be much of a concern if we all needed to meet at "the range." Keep everything separated until range day.

I watched another video of his, about how he doesn't have a CCP because the Constitution and the 2A are his permit. While I personally don't disagree with the sentiment, I also know such sentiments are not going to help you much in a court room. So take his advise with a big lump of salt.

    LOL. "followers" - fascinating.

I steer clear of all youtube "content" as a general rule. Except that video of which direction I need to hold my Ruger 22/45 to take it apart.

Hopefully I never find myself in a situation where I'm "following" a fella who puts stuff in a big pelican case and films himself pointing at it.

I just put the video in here because I’m still learning about the AR platform and thought it would be nice to get some feedback from the guys in here. Having said that, there’s a lot to learn before you decide to build or buy your own setup. It’s nice to hear information from a person who used these tools professionally and now has the freedom to use them as a civilian. I don’t agree with everything Chad says but, you probably will not agree with Everything anyone says. Especially if it’s all in prerecorded videos. I’ve never met the guy or anything but, I like to watch videos he puts out every now and then. Sometimes it’s just entertainment and sometimes I learn something. There’s your Honest answer.

I’m sure whatever he says is fine. He’s bonified.
The issue is that regular dudes don’t have PVS15s, and dudes with more money than sense, don’t have the basic foundations of war fighting to be effective in using them for purposes of the same. As an example. Theres millions of dollars of training behind all that gear.

Even then, the strength of SOF is in team dynamics with heavy support. Talking about good kit is fine, but what’s Susie Rottencrotch who lives on main st. going to do with this?

So as a rule of thumb, when getting information from team dudes, just understand that that is where the context of information is coming from. Guys like John Lovell, on the other hand recognized this a long time ago, and made a living by adapting fighting techniques to the average family person with some basis of reality.

Most people who watched that video would benefit more from a weekend or two of training with a good former SF/Teams guy, than they would trying to emulate what he had in is case.

Good point. Taking the time to explain your opinion respectfully and clearly is appreciated. I do understand that just because one owns gear that’s used by special forces doesn’t make them effective or as efficient as a trained member of that specific group. I also understand that the gear Chad put in his video is very expensive…hence my comment under the video. I’ve always wanted to know the brands and prices of the equipment used by those teams. So, when I came across his video…I thought I’d share it in this thread just in case there are others who didn’t know and/or would like to talk about it.

We watch it all the time. Mostly canning and dehydrating videos for new ideas. It is what you make of it there’s good and bad in all. I like to watch gun part reviews but take them with a grain of salt for their validity.

I'm subscribed to over 400 channels. I watch stuff related to firearms/2A, sailing, bourbon, farming, fabrication, off-road wheeling, military history, van life/traveling, and many others. I don't have cable/sat TV, I get most of my entertainment from streaming YT and Prime videos on my TV via a Firestik. My gripe is with the people running the company, and those that make the decisions to censor and demonetize content that is remotely related to firearms. They still play the ads, but the content creator doesn't get anything for it. I think it's wrong to punish creators for content that is perfectly legal. I've started watching more content on Rumble when it's available as an alternative, they don't seem to be as censor happy over there.
