Had a person tailgate me through town right past a cop that didn't do shit than passes me on a double solid line in the middle of town. People have lost their damn minds. I got an idea leave earlier and you won't be late to work, school, or wherever your going

    Good morning All

Cost is $250. This doesn't include your application fees as each state is different and each state has to be applied for individually.
The course meets the training requirements that these states individually require. You still have to go through the application process.
MD and NJ and FL require a shooting exam. We do that on a separate day. UT and AZ do not require a shooting exam and only require that you go through the classroom portion. MD requirement (by their laws) is 16 hours of total training. If you only want to do AZ and UT, it's a shorter course and the price changes as there is no range component.

I've been doing Non-Resident CCW courses at the OAKS gun show for nearly 6 years. The class room is located in the hallway between the entrance to Hall A and the outside entrance (A). If you've ever come in through Hall A (the side closest to BJ's Wholesale Club), then you've walked right by the classroom and my table.

If you're interested, I can PM you the sign up link (which is on my website).

:pccoffee:  PA peeps/wannabes/road warriors. Forecast says sunny, sky disagrees. I'm going to run some errands today, hopefully the worst of the debris is off the roads by now.

Please report back on how they work! I've been using rechargeable AAAs for various garage gear, they don't really last long enough and I have to keep a full extra set on charge all the time. I'd love to have batteries that make it through a day.
We had a head-on crash near here where someone in a hurry tried to get around a semi-trailer in a really really stupid place. Both drivers are in the hospital fighting for their lives. It was an idiot move too. No way there was anything remotely resembling a long enough sightline on that stretch of road. Be a little late people! It's not worth your life.

Back when I was commuting into work at CarTech it dawned on me one day that I was arriving at work pretty stressed out. I knew what it was; the commute. So I started leaving earlier for work and taking little back roads instead of the main arteries. Spent a few more minutes each day commuting but saved a ton of stress. I think it was worthwhile.

When I lived near Detroit i was shocked at how many people ridiculed and dismissed winter tires - Does PA feel the same way? Is that the issue with the drivers up there? My drives through PA have been generally annoying (tons and tons, but not as bad as Maryland) left-lane campers (which is the only driving behaviour that bothers me), but I haven't yet driven up there during good (snowy) weather.

I don't know many who have winter tires.

I have one of these on my truck.

mind-blowing to me. When I put blizzaks on my previous Legacy, I could hit freeway speeds with full confidence, while others were not reaching 25-30. Was night-and-day difference. I wonder what the struggle is, for people, to get there mentally. One guy in Detroit said "Well, I'd just put them on the back of my van (rwd) at most." When I asked him how he wanted to stop or steer he just looked at me, blankly.

    Perfect.

Left lane drivers are the worst.

Would rather have a tailgater or a speeder any day than someone either obstinately or obliviously driving down the road in the left lane.

Speaking of passing on the right was just about to go around someone on the right cuz they had their left blinker on and came to a complete stop. Than last second the turned right glad my situational awareness is good.

And it's even beyond snow - the cold-weather traction on dry surfaces is absolutely better with winter tires :) Stopping a few feet sooner can make all the difference.

I drive 30k+ miles a year so I just buy new Michelin cross climates every November. They are winterish tires that do great in the slushy stuff which is what the roads end up being most of the time.

That incenses me when an officer sees it and does nada. I was in highway stop and go last summer..noticed a lady behind me on her phone (at arm's length in front of her face) right behind me, got to where I'd stop leaving a car length ahead and watch her to see if she'd stop in time to not rearend me and almost always I'd have to inch forward to prevent it. I saw a state officer in the lane next to me, got his attention and pointed to the car behind me. He just shrugged and turned away.

I'll pass for now. Paying off a new winch and bumper on my Tacoma so spare cash is a little tight. I've been going to the Oaks show for years but have never used that entrance. I will look for you if I go to the next show. Thanks for the information.
