My 2’nd Gen has 2Lo, ATRAC, and 9 cupholders. Fit that slug in your pipe and smoke it.

I think this will go over a lot of the folks heads lol. An M240i is my favorite car I’ve driven, can’t imagine an M2.

So when are you buying a 3rd GX? For when you feel like driving a different color?

I traded a 21 Tacoma Sport with 20K miles on the first one, trade value was $37.5 plus tax savings of $2531.25 = $40031.25.

The second one was a 21 4Runner limited with 21.5 k miles that I wasn't getting good trade offers on, so I got offers from Carvana, Carmax, Vroom, etc. and Vroom came back with the best offer of $40,584. I sold it to them and it was a seamless process.

I replaced both of those vehicles with 2023 GX 460s .

How many on this forum also post on other truck forums?

Before the new Tundra came out, I lurked on a Tundra forum (maybe I posted once or twice, don't remember). Was hoping the new Tundra would be smaller by an inch or two and be more garage friendly, but it got bigger. Since the new Tacoma has been out, I've been here exclusively. The Tundra is still in the back of my head. I'm contemplating adding a new garage/workshop or moving to a new home with a larger garage and workshop. Tundra would still be more truck than I need and I think I would enjoy the new Tacoma more. TRD Pro for either model, by the way.

While some people say brand loyalists are "fanboys", sometimes you just stick with a brand because of previous experience and personal aesthetics. Sig, FN, even S&W make good guns, but I prefer Glocks.

I have no interest in the Ford or Chevy/GMC offerings even if they are priced lower or are a better "value". Oddly, if Tesla or Rivian made a more conventional looking truck I would consider them, but that's because Toyota doesn't have one. If the future Tacoma EV has 80% of the range of a future better looking Tesla/Rivian, I'd probably go with the Tacoma.

I’ll lurk on Tundra and Ford Authority. Have a buddy who is a Ford tech, he gives me the good and bad about them, no different than Toyota really. Haven’t been interested in Chevy until recently, ever since the 4G was released has me looking elsewhere ironically. Changes in cab configurations and jump in price is what did it.

Have been driving Toyotas for 30+ years, even with their flaws I still like them. Part of me thinks why change now? The other is Toyota is loosing their way, no different than anyone else at this point. The ergonomics do fit me better than the other brands, but I could get use to something else given time.

Out of all the trucks out there, like the looks of the Rivian the best. Would buy one of those, but no 6’ bed, range is terrible when towing, pain in the neck to recharge in the places I like to go while traveling. Who knows if they are going to be around in 5 years. Too risky of a purchase.

Plus, for around the price of Rivian gets me full-size and a camper, and no worry about range or refueling.

I lurk at coloradofans as I am still weighting the Tacoma against an AT4.

I've owned 2 Tacoma trucks and 2 4Runners, I'm not by any means loyal just been a fan of Toyota trucks. I've owned other brands before (21 F-150 Tremor, Colorado ZR2 Duramax, Silverado 1500 3.0 Duramax, 01 F-150 Lighting) and would be open to owning other brands. I like the community here but the elitism bullshit some exhibit that Toyota can do no wrong is annoying AF.
I'd be interested in the new Ram motors even though its a Stellantis product. Also looking casually at 22+ AT4's with the diesel. I don't tow a whole lot, but when I do the Tacoma is just not wonderful. I'm told from some users here it's not supposed to be good at towing? Don't get that at all.

Fan boys are annoying AF. Betting I have owned them longer than most, noticed they don’t really hang on to them long to know if it is any good or not, and get bothered if you mention these things aren’t perfect.

Tacoma does tow fine as long as you don’t overload it. Towing at half capacity is my personal rule of thumb, people argue all day long that it can tow more, it will but not well. From years of towing heavy equipment, best not to max out capacity. Easier on the machines, they last longer, and costs you less in the long run. The longer you keep them out of the shop, the more time they can be used to make you money. If you’re buying a truck to do truck things, always get a little more than you need. So when I am looking at campers, look at the weight and compare towing capacities. Tacoma max out at 3500-4000 lbs, Tundra 5000-7000 lbs, and so on.

I think a huge amount of Tacoma owners buy them just because they are “cool” and have no use for an actual truck.

And the Trail Boss/Z71/ZR2/AT4/Tremor/Raptor buyers, they're not buying "cool" trucks?

This^^^, why most of them are more worried about how many options on on them, than actual capacities. Base SR has more options and features than I’ll ever use, not sure why people need more than that.

Judging by the BMW posts and “needs” a lot the buyers are from the sports sedan market, then bought a Tacoma because it is trendy. Toyota is definitely catering to those people given all the fluff and price increases.
