I'm heading to Leavenworth tomorrow... supposed to be like -15 Friday night. Not sure I've ever experienced below like 10 degrees before. I'll be driving nice and slow tomorrow, for sure, crossing Snoqualmie and Blewett.

Ai grew up a bit in the Midwest, when I left Minnesota for the last time Dec 2005 it was -30/-40 every day. That kind of cold is just painful

have you been up there before? I'm so sick of the crowds and parking. Never going back again. A relative forced us to go up there Christmas week. I've seen it too many times I guess.

Blewett might be interesting though. I want to try some forest roads off of 97 when there is fresh snow. A few winters ago a member here was solo and got stuck up there. I had geared up for a rescue but he got out right before I left.

Hey! It’s a mess right now so be very cautious. East bound is closed at Kittitas which wouldn’t affect you on the route you are traveling but westbound I90 is reporting several accidents due to snow and icy conditions. EMS is letting people know that if they get stuck they may not be able to support. LeGrande Oregon gets pretty nasty and I84 gets extremely bad around the Dalles and through the canyon as it funnels the wind and creates a lot of black ice. I’ve traveled these routes for years in good and bad weather. So just be careful. The weather guessers have updated this storm over the last several days and there is a chance it will move south towards Portland but won’t know until tomorrow. The wind picked up around 3 and it is currently snowing at my house in Federal Way which sits at 200’ above sea level.

Lol, I’ve lived up this way my entire life and can’t remember it being colder than 9* and it’s supposed to be -2* tonight. I was bitching about it tonight with my mother in law that lives in Minneapolis and she’s like what’s the big deal.

All I’ve heard about the ferries is that they won’t be at full operational capacity until the 2030s

It was down to 6° last night here at the canyon. A 6 mile walk at 20°. Not sure I want to deal with single digits…

Maybe WA state ferries? I think Whatcom only has the one for Lummi. But I’m not fully versed on that stuff though.

You haven’t got to experience the North Easter that rips across Whatcom county. It blows a steady 15-20 mph

it’s not officially a nor’easter but northern arizona gusts like that, we just don’t have the moisture in the air. We’re sitting with A foot of snow on the ground and winds steady at 15. It’s slowed down from a few days ago.
