A healthy chunk of that 36K were probably fleet sales too.

Yep, bunch of the ranches/farms here use them for working the irrigation ditches, or driving out to the tractors. Salesman here was telling me they’ll order 1-2 dozen at a time. lol!

Yeah you have the ACLB is perfect in so many ways, size, practically and looks.Have zero interest in the XC, so they lost that future sale.

Could make a DCSB work, either a wedge camper or do a trailer. Would consider the DCLB, but honestly at that point buy a Tundra. Can get the SR DC6.5 that same price of the Taco SR5 DCLB.

Still disappointed, however looks like I’ll hang onto the 3G longer. Perhaps until I am dead, wife will most likely get and still will be in the family.

Building a bed platform is probably your best bet for sleeping diagonally. Not as quick to turn back into an open bed, why I like the 6’ beds. Toss the cot in there done, finish with the camp trip yank it out.

Well I have to say if my truck was totalled, I would either have to search for another one with lots of hopes and prayers. Or just go find a double cab 5.7 tundra with low miles. Definitely not buying a regular cab truck with a large cubby behind the seats I can't access.

She would be hard to replace...

Yep, what I was thinking, if mine would get wrecked it can’t be replaced with a ‘24. Can make something else work, but not happy about it.

Seems like every video I have watched on the XtraCab they all mention something about the cubbies being difficult to access.

I did see a brand new Z71 at Lowe's Friday. The truck looks great. But it's a GM product. So that just will never happen.

The old.5.7 is hard to kill. But finding a lower mileage model with the right options might be just as hard.

Maybe I will go to Canada and find one and work out a way to bring it back. It would be worth it to me.

Sure do like those Chevys Trail Bosses, prices are coming down. But yeah real hard to leave Toyota. Who knows with the 4th Gen Tacoma coming out might be a rash of trade-ins. Wouldn’t mind grabbing an another ACLB, my wife wants one…be weird having two, but who cares.

My partner wants an ACLB and we were disappointed with what Tacoma decided to do for 24. Pure stupidity IMO. That said, we will still take a look at one when the time comes, as it may not be as big of a PITA in person. The biggest issue would be her dog, which could ride in the bed once its capped.

Even my better half said “why in the hell did they do that!?”

She is a teacher, always has boxes and boxes of books and supplies. Honestly think she would be better off in a DC or 4Runner. She doesn’t like the DCSB Tacomas, not sure why…she doesn’t haul that much stuff.

I hear you on the teacher thing. Daughter is a 4th grade orchestra teacher and her vehicle is packed to the gills with instruments at all times.

I wonder if it will even be possible to see/test drive an XC Tacoma in 2024 given the slow rollout.

She about ruined the rear seats in our Trooper from all the crap she carries around, the weight of it put permanent creases in the fabric and foam. Not to thrilled how they did the ‘24 DC rear seat fold up/down. The 3rd Gen was much better, seat backs folded flat with plastic backing. Now they don’t do that and have carpet, took the usable utility out of it.

Believe it is going to be long time before test drives, have absolute zero interest in the XC, drove my 1st Gen extra cab for 20 years, know the rear storage is a pain.

Currently my wife drives a Miata RF with the hardtop. She loves it, but would like to haul the dogs and other items around that just will not fit the RF. So she has been looking at 4runners. I think she has decided on a SR5 or OR, both premium models. Now we wait for a good deal.

Mine doesn’t like cars she doesn’t like sitting that low to the ground, had a Trooper, that died and currently driving my old 1st Gen Tacoma, every time she rides in my 3rd Gen says she wants one. Was going to buy another, but started her own business instead. So waiting a year or two until I get a new truck then she gets 3G what most likely will happen. I’ll probably go full-size.

This popped up on my FB feed, the DCLB doesn’t look too bad with a little lift and 33s, balances out the length, have been noticing them around town too, could live with it. Other than the Trail Hunter DCLB, haven’t seen the ‘24 lifted. Seeing the SR5 DCSB lifted on 33s has me thinking the DCLB won’t be too bad.

On the Colorado forums they even question the longevity of the 2.7 https://www.coloradofans.com/threads/can-we-trust-the-2-7.434716/

I’m not sure if the 4% failure rate is true or not, but that would be concerning to me.

There were 237k Tacomas sold in 2022, if they had the same failure rate 10,000 would be affected.

I do not mean to make this a Chevy Colorado conversation, or a dig at GM -- but since the Blazer EV has been pulled from sale until they fix the software (?) or maybe hardware based electrical grounding issues (again, ?)... GM tech does seem to have its share of problems. And it is pretty telling that even Andre at FLT has had some of the same electronic issues, but still loves his Chevy Colorado Trail Boss. I do love tech, but if you have to periodically pull your battery connections to reset the system? I would be irritated too. To say nothing of him not checking the tech package that contained adaptive cruise control (or any cruise control at all!).

I am not going to take the time to go look, but has there been any widespread problems with the 2.7 in the Silverado since 2018 or 2019...whenever they started to put it in there?

The early 2.7s were plagued with high pressure fuel pump issues. I’m not sure about the more recent ones honestly

From the link posted above......doesn't sound too serious and wouldn't deter me from buying one.

"GM has issued a voluntary emissions recall for certain units of the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2023 Chevy Colorado trucks that may be equipped with fuel injectors with incorrect fuel flow rate characteristics, which could cause noncompliance with emissions standards for these vehicles.

The hazards: because of the incorrect flow rate of the fuel injectors, affected pickups may fail to meet emissions standards because engine fueling is not optimized when certain driving conditions are present."

Not sure what luxury amenities they’re talking about. A fully loaded ZR2 ($51-52k MSRP before smaller accessories) has everything a TRD OR Premium would have. Not sure what it’s missing?
