I think that's what it is but I could be wrong.

Unless you've been over boosting and introducing a lot of excessive heat those bearings and seals are likely fine, though there always does exist the off chance that you got some bunk bearings and they are failing prematurely.

I would be more inclined to say that that is your spring loaded coupler failing before I would say bad bearings. If you are still on the spring loaded one then it's definitely time to go solid. If that is something you already have then it is time for yet another rebuild without question.

@White lightning boosted @TodayWasTHeDaY it is a new fill plug and loctite gasket. Both I don't think are completely necessary but it is nice they provide them and I will use them this go around. The first time I did my coupler I just re-used the plug and used my own gasket maker/sealant. No issues with either.

I guess time to start cross referencing or see if there would be enough interest for a run of them from someone.. or.. new pulley/bearing setups to run an alternate belt length.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
The Gates Fleetrunner in 69.5" has been working great for me on a 2.6" pulley, roush tensioner and no pulley wrap. No noticeable slipping.

It's definitely going to be different for every truck.. blower pulley size, wrap mod or not, what tensioner and how much tension, wanting to cut ribs or not, etc.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
I see a K050705RPM just sold on ebay for $92... ouch... they are already getting spendy

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/386176514410

Has anyone really had a problem with an OE spec Bando belt for the blower? They are not bad belts. Lots of claims the belt was slipping early on in this thread, but that was before stiffer tensioners, wrap mods, rip mod, etc. Maybe with a Roush tensioner and a stock belt 95% with a 2.8 and up would be fine? I dunno... but guessing that some gates rpm hoarding is going to happen...

I paid 125 for mine a year or so ago from Napa.

I'd be fine with any belt that would fit (length) my setup and doesnt require trimming a rib.

Trimming for me isn't an issue. 2 belts for the price of one!

Screw this. We should all just switch to cogged pulleys and belts. Problem solved!

copy all, it does have a solid coupler they replaced with. The only mods it has is a solid coupler though I don’t know the brand they used. Then he said he did a constrictor cut in the pulley to make the teeth taller to grip the belt tighter. Thanks for the response.

It looks like a teardown is necessary then. The solid couplers do fail eventually actually and the chance that they can make noise like that due to the slop they create is possible. If that's not the case then the bearings are defective and will require re- replacement. You never did state what size pulley you are running so that is a potential factor...

Ah, okay. Then yeah it's just a simple case of defective bearings unless the coupler was bad, but I doubt it is based on mileage and nylon doesn't wear out like that THAT fast.

@IowaToyotas I don’t necessarily think that TRD blower sounds bad. Yes the solid coupler definitely makes these TRD blowers louder than the spring style.

Unless you noticed a significant difference in sound since you first got it then that’s another story. But most sound close to that especially on cold start.

I would take the belt off and turn SC pulley by hand and see if there is play.
