TRD beadlock wheels are still in production, new part number

Center caps were not included with the beadlock wheels I got from Elmhurst Toyota. Caps are ordered........still waiting.

 

They probably sold out.

 

One of the parts guys at Elmhurst Toyota told me they have been on backorder since August.

 

Looks like they have been on back order for years if you check older forums! I was able to get my wheel distributor to send a trd lug nut set since the ad clearly stated caps were included! ($130) value
FN has black, gray and bronze but are not Toyota color matched

 

You can get those blank ones and some TRD overlay stickers and fool everyone

 

Not sure if they have been listed on the website, but if you call them they have the brushed aluminum now. I bought a set recently. Plan to put some stickers on it while I wait for the OEM caps...

 

They work well, I blacked out my red.

Called FN Wheels this morning, no answer. So I went ahead and ordered some gun metal center caps from them. Not more than 30 min. later I got a call from Dustin at FN Wheels. He saw my order and asked me why I called? I told him I needed center caps. He said "they just got in the radial brushed aluminum caps in and did you want to change your order" I said yes! That's awesome customer service! He also told me the radial brushed aluminum caps will be on their web store soon.

Dustin is a stand up dude! Be careful pushing them in, I dented one with my knuckle apparently. They are pretty soft, next time I’ll use a 4” round plastic cup or something to push equally! My Red “TRD” vinyl came today.

 

Sweet! I may order a set and keep my order in for the Toyota parts too.

 

Not exactly OEM but will work in a pinch! FN caps $65 , TVD vinyl $15

 

The caps look great and so does the cabin........NICE!

 

Anyone have good or bad experience order parts from BAM Wholesale Parts? They seem to have the best price on the TRD wheels and shipping to HI is reasonable compared to most other that have them. Many dealers will not ship to HI or their shipping cost is as much as buy 2-3 more wheels.

 

Before I got my TRD beadlocks I had the 2021 pro wheels that I got from BAM. I bought a full set but I needed to buy the center caps separate. Items were shipped and delivered fairly quick. I live in Georgia so shipping to Hawaii might take a bit longer. Anyways when they did arrive they forgot to send all 4 center caps as I only got 2. I emailed them about it and they were quick in responding and I was able to get the other two caps shipped. Everything was packaged well, pretty much OEM like how it would be if you bought from a dealer.

We made these blank caps just for you guys who are waiting on the TRD caps from the Toyota dealerships. Ideally everyone would buy our 17" Overlander wheels instead (which always include center caps), but I have nothing against the 16" TRD wheels. They are very good wheels too.

Ironically we used to stock the PTR18-35092 caps which we purchased wholesale (500 at a time) directly from Toyota dealerships. Toyota's quality control was so poor for those caps! So many of the caps came with deep gouges, multiple scratches and dents. We tried a Canadian wholesale source, two local West Coast sources and a Gulf States Toyota source, and the result was always the same. 30% to 40% of the caps were unacceptable by our standards and Toyota wouldn't take them back either because they weren't technically defective (just very poor quality). We ended up giving away hundreds if not a thousand of the OEM TRD caps for free because even though they weren't an "FN" part, they didn't meet our QC standards. Finally we just stopped ordering the caps altogether shortly before Toyota discontinued the original part number. Today I see the same caps going for a lot of money on EBAY.

I'm not exactly sure why Toyota isn't providing you guys with the caps, but I can't help but suspect it's a quality issue again. I am a little surprised at how patient most customers are with the different Toyota dealerships though! I know that our customers (rightfully) expect a lot more out of us when it comes to our wheels. Seems like Toyota and the all of the dealerships are really getting a pass on this one.

 

Got my center caps from Dustin at FN, and decals from Import Equipment at his suggestion.

Follow up on BAM - my wheels made it to Maui today in great shape and earlier than scheduled. Price with shipping was less than what local dealer wanted to order them.

Now if the truck would get loaded for transport from Oahu to Maui I could get them mounted and on the truck.
