I have said it before and I will say it again, that CB400F is just simply BEAUTIFUL. The 4 into one sweeping headers and overall look is just gorgeous!

Never been a big harley guy but those XR1200's were neat!

About 2-3 years ago we had an FJR rider friend from OH spend a weekend with us while she was traveling. Julie likely has more miles under her seat than a lot of you and has ridden in 47/50 states. I offered her the keys to the CB400F and she declined for fear of something happening to it. Her entire family rides including grandparents so later that evening when she called home and then texted her father a picture of the bike and told him how she had NOT taken it for a ride she came perilously close to being disowned!

One of the few times I've declined an opportunity to ride or drive something was back in the late 1980's when I was given a chance to drive a Pantera and turned it down. Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Ignorance is bliss when it comes to things like that I always tell myself. (Especially if its something I have been kinda eyeing hahaha) My pocketbook thanks me.

Found a good double stick tape to use on my R3 tank pads. The original sticky that was on these was crap. They didn’t stick well at all. I tired spray adhesive and that did not work either. So I tried Gorilla glue tape. Worked perfectly. The pads have been on for three days and no signs of lifting.

Got my gear indicator and my seat concept seat. Both easy installations. The seat is the same height as stock and sitting on it the height feels the same as before.
It’s wider and a bit harder. We will see how it feels on my next ride.

That would probably work great for the frame covers I want to put on the Tuono.

I would definitely be open to letting any of you in here ride my bike, the issue that arises is I'm not comfortable riding anyone else's lol. I'd be too concerned something might happen while I was on it. Even on test rides when I hand over all the cash I still have that in the back of my mind until title is signed over.

The few times I've had to ride in active snow I've actually turned my ABS off. Same thing with like off road and gravel. I'd rather have the ability to intentionally lock up and/or brake to the absolute limit than go sliding through an intersection with ABS firing.

Edit: I also barely touched my front brake during those times to avoid locking and slamming sideways.

Also, of course Fortnine has a video on ABS vs Non-ABS in braking distances

Oh in snow it would be different. The only inclement weather I've had the opportunity/misfortune to ride in is rain, and usually on the freeways, which means lane splitting. ABS has saved my ass in those scenarios countless times because as we all know, those painted lines get slick in the wet. Mix that with people who cut lanes with little to no warning and it's allowed me to safely swerve many a time. I don't have quite enough experience with breaking the rear loose to do that safely without ABS lol

In snow ABS would pretty much only be a hindrance I feel.

My bad, I misunderstood then, yeah, rain I keep it on. Snow is a wild animal hah. I was telling my wife about the last time I got caught at work with the bike and it started dumping and I was stubborn enough to ride home had to ride home. Slid the back wheel for probably 500 feet on a very slight downhill. Anytime I let off the brake my back end wanted to start coming around and go sideways so I was just riding out the slide and engine braking until I slowed enough, luckily before the upcoming intersection where idling car engine heat had kept it melted down and was just wet pavement.

I rode over Vail Pass once in a blizzard on a 1990 Sportster. This was in June.
Started snowing on the way up, pulled into the rest area just just before the peak and warmed up by a barrel fire that other bikers had going. Then it really started to dump, I had no intention of spending the night in a rest area shitter, so I went for it. Highway was completely covered and iced over, never got out of second gear, butthole was so tightly clenched I could have shit a diamond. Traffic gave me all the room and more. Coming down the other side it started to clear, and that's when shit got real dicey. roads were clear in the sun, but then you hit a curve that was still icy at speed, very exciting.

In other news, Honda has a new race Grom.

So awesome you did that - a great act of generosity and made for an epic story too. He'll never forget that, and will more than likely pay it forward. Motorcyclists are a pretty tight knit community, some of the coolest/most interesting people. The passion we share is like an instant bond... I've had so many great conversations and rides with random peeps

Also thanks and the feeling is mutual! I'd let you ride either of mine without a second thought. Same goes for the rest of the crew here - if you're ever nearby take your pick and we'll go for a spin

Installed the last of the mods. Skid plate and a spark arrestor baffle. Sounds much better!
