They can’t be. I haven’t seen a single sold one. Just deposits on allocations or sale pending status and in transit. I doubt anyone has taken delivery.

From a dealer that sells at MSRP, or under for less in demand vehicles like Tundra. Plenty out there, but can be somewhat regional. May need to travel. But buyers are still at the mercy of Toyota allocations and packages and options. Bare bones are hard to find in any trim level.

Why would they discount if the new ones aren't on the lot yet. I'm sure they will once the 2024s are sitting next to them

^As a buyer, it suffers a bit in residual value down the line. The minute you drive it off the lot, it's "one year old". If you sell it in, say, 2032, the market will value it like a 9 year-old truck even though you've owned it only 8 years.

They haven't been delivered to dealers. Filter the "status" column. Available choices are "allocation", "freight", and "ground". None of the 2024s are in "freight" or "ground" status.

And technically vehicles can be delivered to buyers (i.e. titled to the buyer) as long as the EPA had certified Toyota's submitted fuel economy numbers. There may be some lag before EPA posts the numbers on FuelEconomy.Gov.

On the flippity flip though, unless you drive a lot, the lower miles will help somewhat with the age difference?

So your discount equals a year of depreciation, you really didn't save anything. You paid less and when you sell you get less. Kind of like buying a Chevy or Ford.

Dealer hold with pending sales due to people putting deposits down is my guess.

I spot checked a lot of the sports with January delivery dates and they all had permanent VINs so they should be built by now. We know at least one SR5 was on the train as of the 9th, which is the same day as the report.

That's if you negotiate a discount. A large number of 2023s are listed in that spreadsheet without a discount, implying the dealers are still trying to sell at MSRP.

I personally think that an MT SR is the best value of the 4th gen. I am strongly considering it, but I need to see one and drive it first.

I'd prefer a base OR with a few select options though as I really want the coils to ride as nice as I think it should. Need to drive one of those as well.

Lack of towing on SR makes it a hard sell as #3500 is borderline insulting. Payload and towing are what I am paying attention to most. You know, typical Tacoma owners concerns lol.

The lack of coils on the SR is what kills it for me, that is why it is the value option though.

A lightly optioned OR is probably what I am wanting

I think the SR MT will have the 270HP setup like the Sport and OR, so it should get the higher towing and payload numbers.

It’s the gauge cluster that kills the SR and SR5 for me :(

I don't think the smaller screen with the two side gauges is bad, I kinda like it. I like the larger 12" gauge cluster on the TRD and up trims much more though.
The thing nobody really talks about as far as I have seen between trim levels is the drive modes. (Eco, Normal, Sport, Sport +) That also eliminates the SR5 for me and is why I want the TRD OR.

Sometimes I like just cruising, sometimes I like driving spiritedly. So being able to switch up my throttle mapping, shift logic, and steering weight with the twist knob is an awesome feature. I loved the execution of the drive modes in the Tundra I test drove. The Limited will make the most of this feature by adjusting the electronic dampers as well.
