Bilstein 6112/5160; JBA HD UCAs; 1.5" 3-Leaf AAL's w/ overload; OME CB drop; RCI aluminum skids w/ catalytic converter shields; Wheeler's U-Bolt flip kit with Superbumps; TRD Pro 4-Runner Wheels; BFG KO2's (265/70/17); Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport (Yellow) fogs; CaliRaised 32" hidden light bar; Morimoto XB LED headlights with upgraded HD harness; Unifilter mod; Rear-View mirror riser bracket; Truxedo Lo Pro tonneau cover; New OEM color-matched grille; Bumpershellz color-matched rear bumper cover; Ultra-Gauge MX 1.4 w/Spiker mount; Baja Designs S2 Sport Ditch Lights with SDHQ brackets; Fog Light Anytime Mod; Overland Tailor Tune (OTT)
Installed a fire extinguisher in the bed of my truck. Bought a quick detach mount from Amazon for about $25 and some special T-Nuts from Hondo Garage. I bought some stainless steel 5/16 x 1" screws from Lowe's that worked perfect for attaching the mount to the T-Nuts with some blue loctite for good measure. I wanted to have it mounted closer to the tailgate however it interfered with the crossbar from the tonneau cover. I don't like the idea of keeping a fire extinguisher inside the cab, especially under my legs or where it could injure a passenger. Behind the back seat would probably work too however I have subwoofer boxes and an amp back there.

I wasn’t sure if the color would match, but for what I paid I figured I’d take a chance.

I know I’m silver sky. Silver sky>all the other colors.

Last pieces just arrived for the overhaul on my truck.

    - New radiator, thermostat
    - Fox suspension to get rido f the god awful eibach suspension.
    - Archive Garage shock relocation
    - bed stiffners

    IMG_0175.jpg

Stuff I’ve been holding since October 2022

    - C4 Overland Bunper
    - Diode Dynamics (light bar and fog lights)
    - Archive Garage: hanger, cross bar, shackles
    - intake manifold spacer
    - URD exhaust cam gears with gaskets
    - Spindle gussets and new cam tabs

    IMG_3992.jpg

Lastly, regear scheduled for next month part of the group buy that was going on last December.

got a new radio as well but Best Buy butchered my harness so I have to take it to another shop and have it installed.

is there anything else I should do while the truck is down? Water pump, pulleys, fan clutch.

Im ordering a new carrier bearing cause I’m feeling a vibration when I accelerate from a stop, and when looking underneath truck, the bearing looks shot. Also added a new power steering pump, cause it’s leaking. Upper, lower uca bushings look fine.

Hopefully she feels like a brand new truck.

Finally got around adding a lift to my 2014 TRD off road.

6112s on notches 9 and 10 up front. Bilstein UCAs. 5160s and the headstrong 3 leaf progressive AAL in the rear. Rides much better than stock. Got a steal off Facebook marketplace, everything brand new in the box for $800 and I installed it myself But I didn’t know about the needle bearing issue and I think as soon as I lifted everything mine went out so that’s next on the list.

i did the same thing as you. trd off road to 6112/5160.....can you describe how it is better then stock? just curious to hear your opinion?

i set mine on the top settings for the 6112 and later lowered it down 4 clips....rides smoother.

my shocks were pretty worn so I felt everything in the road. Body roll is substantially less now. Might be a little firm but feels much better than I had. What was your issue with them at the top?

Changed the oil and checked the air pressure in the tires. Went to lube my TC upper control arms and didn’t have any grease.

makes sense if you go from worn to new ones.

when i installed mine, i put the 650lbs spring and on the top perch. im stock weights, beside a camper shell. always thought the truck was too firm. about 8 months later i installed 600lbs springs and it was still to firm for my liking on the top perch.

couple months later i put them on the 2nd perch (i have the first version of the 6112), and on the 2nd perch, it was noticeably smoother and more comfortable, but i would hit my bump stops when im going over my usual off road trails. so i settled on the 4th perch. in the middle.

im happy with them when im blasting off road at high speeds....but on the road, just wish they were a little more smoother. they are a little firm for me.

Installed a new-to-me dashcam I picked up from another forum member. Found out a PO of my truck installed a gentex mirror so I ended up using one of the “universal” simpleusb adaptors instead of the Tacoma-specific one to get power from the mirror. Pushed it up into the headliner and I’m pretty happy with it. IMG_3202.jpg IMG_3200.jpg

Just got mine over xmas break. Had to wait for the power “Dongar” adapter for the rear view mirror. Finally arrived and plan to install soon. First dash cam ever. I think it’s becoming necessary these days. The Garmin Dash cam mini 2 is nice and compact. Video quality is okay from reviews I’ve seen. I just want something for now in the event I have to defend myself. Hope I will never need it.
