@Hook78 thanks for the hookup on this one. Fantastic pour. I had high expectations for it but it was very different than I thought, in a good way.

I'm not the best with tasting notes but its got a nice aroma, some kind of fruit, kind of "dark" if that makes sense. Lots of spice on the sip, not much mintiness or traditional rye flavor that I expected. Maybe a bit of chocolate towards the end or on the finish.

I was so close to going to this but got roped into a meeting at 5 so didn't want to risk it, meeting ran until 630 so was glad I didn't. Congrats on the RHF

Same. The 15 is such a good pour. Local shop has it for $87 which is a steal

Excellent! Great to hear, I can’t wait to open mine. I hear there’s lots of dark fruit — plum, cherries — should be right up my alley.

I have. I don't remember it being overly floral. If I recall it was more oaky than anything. Of all I've had the V tend to be my favorite, and after that it seems like as long as they are over 10 years they are great. I had a few in the 9 years range that were just okay.

Cherry might be what I tasted.

Cracked this one right after. They are pretty evenly matched. The overholt is a bit more tame but both very good

    That bottle sounds insane…

Old Forester 1920 is the most cherry bourbon I’ve ever tasted.

Wild Turkey anything shelf stock seems to have a cherry note.

For apple notes, Gold or Yellow Spot Irish whiskey. Extremely apple forward.

OF 1920 has a very strong artificial cherry note to me, like cough syrup flavor. I also get a lot of cherry out of regular ole BT.
