The Philadelphia auto show black tie event was a great time. I finally got to see the 4th gen Tacoma in person. Been a long wait. I think it looks fantastic especially in solar octane! Unfortunately they had the doors locked so I couldn’t sit inside of it. Figured I’d share a few pictures of our night out.

Did they actually let you inside? My girlfriend and I were there today and I was extremely disappointed to find both of them locked...

Nope. They were locked. I couldn’t understand why… they are pre production trucks that are getting scrapped anyway. Made zero sense to me as well.

The only valid reason I can think of is that the preproduction interiors are substandard. This could lead to a negative first impression.

But, they SHOULD be production interiors and unlocked at this point.

That’s a marketing mistake in my opinion.

Agree 100 percent. The exterior was full of pre production cheapness

These were production models with VINs, at least the orange one; I'm thinking they just don't want people to vandalize them...

Negative did you noticed the bed rails and bed itself. Clearly pre production cheap plastic with no texturing to it

The orange one had a VIN. Maybe they aren't ever going to be sold, but I saw the VIN on the orange one; I'm thinking they do have titles and can be legally registered, but they are in fact half-assed preproduction models...

I thought the preproduction ones didn't have VINs at all. A Toyota rep told me that orange one was eventually going to be sold...

Maybe a vin to be able to operate the vehicle but it’s not a production vin

So it does have a title, but it'll probably suffer the same fate as the 1995-2000 Tacos in the first frame recall?

Absolutely no way dude. I work on cars every day doing collision repair. The amount of cheap pre production things I seen stood right out to me. Even looking through the windows I could see it on interior. I have an eye for it.
