It was twice that when I went to the store a bit ago (+38), and yet some of the other coast temps are warmer than here.

Only to the wife and I but he’s a prefect gentleman on a trail or even in motels never barks or acts like a fool. But you have to keep a distance from the wife and I. We can have a conversation with people at 5or6’ with him sitting beside us and if you get too close I will hear him start low growl. Never had anyone keep coming but I have no doubt he would stop them at some point.

Colt is pretty friendly but very judgmental ups usps and fedex all love him but he does not like everyone but he is safe off leash in a gathering and has no problems with other dogs coming in the house or eating out his dish.

snowed all night.... didnt stick to nothing. fierce winds out there though & people been losing power off/on all night & today.

genny kicked on for an hour, then we were back on again. looks like we aint gonna get no build up here in SE Ohio.

went to all the trouble to prep up, filled the tanks, put the blade on.... now nothing but wind.

Think I saw -32 this morning. Very little wind so cold but not bad on the commute this morning. Truck fired right up. Outside, No heater core. Thursday we had to shut down exit doors at the hospital because they were freezing open with the wind chill and such. Whitefish Mtn was -39 windchills in -70s 80s. so could be worse.
Last night the wife texts me at 5:30 ( I get off at 7pm) the furnace quit. WTF??? I tell her not much I can do so call the repair shop. I try calling her to see if I need to pick up parts or anything. no answer. So my charge nurse says get out of here and get your furnace running.
Half way home she texts its running. Then she passes me on the way to work. (She's a night shift RN). Calls me when she gets to work and says she emptied the condensate pump {has caused us issues before) flipped some on off switch and played with that thingy. Yeah you know, that thingy. o_O
So I guess kudos to her for getting it running but :annoyed:
Then I tried to get the Snow blower running to deal with the 8 inches of snow and drifts in the driveway. Of course the first time its never started by the 3rd pull.... Plugged it in and tried the electric starter. Nada, Nope. Guess I'll have to move it next to a heater and warms things up first.

Her daughter is driving up from Salt Lake City today. I tried to veto that but... you know women... Not going to change their mind :deadhorse:. Texted her and said "In my best dad voice, be prepared to spend several hours in the car with no heat, just in case". yeah yeah dad, I'll text you guys to keep you posted. .... Its nearly 1:00pm and yep you guessed it... no texts!

    Stay warm, stay dry!!

Well, that was not in the plan today….I'm upstairs working and my wife is in the family room, when we both hear the most awful noise coming from the washing machine.. both run over to investigate, bearings are shot:(
It’s about 13 years old, and bearing replacement is about $150 in parts and a complete tear down of the washing machine….went to HD and bought the newer model of the same one, Geesh I’m getting old, 10 years ago, I’d be doing the tear down.

That’s why I always like hockey, we had the sense to come inside in the winter o_O
I remember watching games on TV at Tiger Stadium, Lions and Green Bay, sub zero temps, snow up the ying yang, more like watching rugby. I bet the insurance companies made them cancel, liability, contracts.

smart move - think of how many people attend that game and how many cars that equates to on the roads. and how many accidents

it has "warmed" up to -15* so far
just pulled the first batch of chocolate chip cookies out of the oven.
house smells good. having the oven on it helping to give the heater a bit of a break.
about to snuggle back into the blankie fort with a plate of fresh cookies and some hot cocoa and watch a movie
