New tires for '11 Dbl Cab Long bed TRD Sport?

I just bought the long bed double cab shown in the photo below. The tires are less than exciting, but do the trick for my daily commuting. They are P265/65R17s. While 99% of my driving is on-road, I do still plan to get it offroad a bit for some fun in the mud.
Anyone have a suggestion for a different tire thats a little more aggressive for off-road, but still good for highway use?
I think the outlined white letters would look better too...

the ones that come on the off road package are pretty good. i've put 3k on them already and no noise or problem. it actually feels smother than my brothers 2011 4x4 trd sport. but i'm sure there are better tires then mine.

 

I too would like to know what tires are recommended for this considering I've got practically the exact same truck and would love new tires eventually.

 

ive got hankook dynapro atm's and i love them. they grip EXTREMELY well compared to the stock dunlops

I'd say just get a good A/T such as the BFG All Terrains. My personal favorite A/T is the Cooper Discoverer ST. I think they just re-modeled them...but still, my favorite A/T. Alot of people swear by the nitto terra grappler and the BFG A/T's though.

Not sure really... I'm just looking at this point. I'm thinking I'd like to find a tire dealer who will take my current tires on a trade... If I can get a good deal for them. They have less than a 1000 miles on them.
I'm kinda putting together my wish list for the truck, so we'll see where new tires fall.

 

I switched from the stock 265/65/17's to 265/75/16 Goodyear Duratracs(obviously got new wheels as well). I love them. I'm mostly highway too so they're a little more aggressive than I needed but they look badass and they're still good on the highway as well(slight hum). You'd probably be happy with some BFG AT's as well.

 

I always say Michelin LTX M/S. Best tire IMO, they are pretty pricey but well worth it in longevity and quality!!

I just put these on my OR and they look great, and are quiet and smooth on the highway.

Based on the opinions of others on TW, they do well off-road if it's just some light stuff...

EDIT: I have the P-metrics. If I was going to do any serious off-roading I would have gone with the LTs.

 

What size are those?

 

As stated above, the Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2 is an awesome tire. They are very quiet on the road, much quieter than stock (I had Rugged "Fails"). Plus, they are great off-road. I switched from 265/70R16 to 265/75R16. Definitely happy with them.

 

Actually, those are Detective Dan's ATms in the picture. His are 285/75/16. It also looks like his are LTs. They have a 17/32" tread, and the P-metrics are 13/32"

I know from research that you will need a lift (possibly minimum 2.5") to fit those shoes on your stock sport. I am not sure exactly, but a search will probably give you an answer.

Here's a couple pics of my ATms that are P265/75/16. That would be 265/70/17 equivalent on your 17" sport rims. That size will fit stock, although I have a rear TSB and 5100s set at .85 for comparison purposes.

So when you say the P265/75/16s are equivalent to my 265/70/17s, is that because even with 16" wheels, you have a taller aspect ratio (75)? And if that's the case, why I would need the lift for something like Detective Dan's? Is it the heavier tread?
Don't get me wrong though, I am thinking I need some lift added either way. As soon as I added those tube steps, it made the truck look much lower and longer...

It talks about rubbing issues with the UCAs (upper control arms) and some of the other things relating to 285/75/16s. That has a lot to do with why I stayed at 265/75/16.
