    Meh. Those "overflow" bottles can actually get low over time. Coolant will evaporate a little bit over time. I'm pretty sure that bottle wasn't to the full mark the last time I looked under the hood of that car. We've had tons of moisture in the past week, and the car being 29 years old there's bound to be leakage. Even a wet drivers floor mat from getting in and out can do what you described. Happened to me a couple times before. Doubt there's anything wrong with the heater core. Just me 2 cents even if people don't agree.
