    That would be a 2024 GR Corolla Circuit Edition; 300HP turbocharged 3-cylinder, but no idea on the MPG (probably not so good with my lead foot)!

    Correct.

    He didnt elaborate but my best guess would be a unit moving positions and needs a little runner car for around the base, or they needed a vehicle that blends in more with the local population for surveillance, etc. Same reason SF folks drive around in hilux a lot in other conflict areas. Doesnt stand out as much as an MRAP or humvee.
