Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
This is a old thread but the only 100% positive way it to relocate the filer in a upright position .

Though in my case i either drop the filter once removed or step in the drain pan.

The filter relocation parts sit on the shelf along with the other good ideas in theory parts.

Just let it drain all over. It does double duty as rust preventative.

Actually if you change oil often.......it wont be full of corrosive combustion blow-by by-products..........its actually good for the rubber bits.......

When messing with gas and brake fluid.....I have some pieces of super heavy foil....
I always protect those lower bushings cause they are such a pain to change.....

I am not smarter than physics or my Taco, so I just pack under the filter with tons of rags. Not a drop goes elsewhere LOL

I go straight to the closest hand held car wash and spray my stuff off cause it always gets everywhere. All good after that

I did a filter relocation on my truck. It worked great, until it didn't. After about a year into it, the engine block adapter o-ring failed, leaving me stranded on the side of the road. The fix was to remove it and install a filter, I never reinstalled the remote system. Maybe one day I will readdress this project.

I thought of doing a relocation but it's adding a point of failure. I'll just deal with the greasy bottom.
