Can you comment on that setup? That's the setup I'm wanting to add. I've been rear-ended twice in 6 months. First was over $10k. Second is over $22k ( hit and run on top of it?) and truck is still in the shop being repaired, going on 3+ months. Unfortunately I'm in same situation, I need to add some camera. Thanks for any advice!

Haha to each his own. So far people have either really liked it or absolutely hated it which I think is kinda fun.

My truck came with 2 fobs and a regular style large key. I keep the large key and a fob together on a key chain and use it daily. You can buy a large key blank and have a locksmith cut it for you. They are sometimes hard to find the exact blank. I found mine on ebay.

    I watched Chloe's install.

Camera is pretty much, plug-n-play with the 12-pin connector.

Powers up with the rearview window on start. I bought the SD card separate...it's a 64G and I've been recording since install a month ago.

Anyone have a source for the Dongar adapter for the Garmin mini 2? Seem to be out of stock everywhere I checked?
    TIA

I can only comment on front camera install. Sounds like you need a back camera as well. This dash cam as a front camera install is very easy. Lots of info below. Hope this helps.

Dashcams record forward, unless you have a rear-facing part to it. The one you quoted looks like it is behind the mirror with no option to look backward. The NextBase GW522 (Best Buy can source them) does not live behind the mirror and can add three rear-facing: in-cab (passenger), out-of-cab (through-ish window), extension that sits on the rear-window and connects to main unit.

Even if you have a rear-facing camera it can only record the fact you were hit. Few cameras record the license plate clearly and some states (like mine) do not require a front license plate. My opinion ... you are better served with a good front recording showing you were not being stupid ... driving constant speed or slowing/stopping for a stop sign or red light. That shows you were doing what you were supposed to do.

That happens. Sometimes you just have to wait.

I didn’t get one like that. I just got the two smart fobs. That may be because I bought mine used.

My first thing I’ve done for it since I bought it last weekend. I added some Husky Weather Beater floor liners.

If you bought it direct from previous owner, they may still have the large key that you can ask for. If you bought it from a dealer they may be able to cut a large key for you.

These Husky liners look WAY better than the TRD ones. Very Nice choice.
