    Don't want to live out of a truck. Besides when I drove in 80's and 90's it was different. Now everything has an auto transmission, at least 90% does. Too many people behind the wheel that shouldn't be there now.

    Yeah. I used to work for a company called Viking Freight Systems we owned the West Coast in LTL freight. Got my CDL through them. In-house driver trainers and all. leaned on a 10-speed. Now you have to do a 160-hour class with a minimum of 15 hours behind the wheel? Depends on the state. I was stupid to let it go. But did not think I would get behind the wheel again.

    Yup its 160hrs. Never heard about the behind the wheel minimum but who knows if IL is the same.

    I went through 160 Driving Academy.
