Gonna need a mod day to cut up his truck and get it on. I’ll see where he’d like to keep it. It’s fine in my garage until he’s ready.

As long as the ground is solid, its probably the only jack ill ever buy for my trucks. its solid but sinks in soft ground. but I can get wheels off the ground in like four pumps now.

Hey, mine does that, im ignoring it until it's a bigger issue.

    Hello All,

Apologies in advance for the image quality. Was wondering if there’s anyone near western mass who would be interested in welding/extending this roof rack for me. Will pay whatever hourly rate you usually charge. It’s one of the OG Prinsus. I had it on my old access cab and now I have a double cab. The mounting points don’t quite line up so we’d have to do some figuring out there. The extensions you see in the pic were just pieces of scrap steel I had in my garage, hoping to make it look somewhat legit with similar width aluminum.

before you tell me I should just buy a new rack…I don’t wanna! Lol

    cheers,
    Colby

Hey Colby, so one issue that I see with that right off the bat is keeping the rack straight and not warping it after welding. I have not welded aluminium yet but I am mostly set up to do so.
Id be willing to give it a try, I just need a few weeks to get the right gas and get some practice with the spool gun. But you need to know that if you eye down the rack it might not be 100% straight.
My 2 cents is just buy the doublecab rack and sell that one but if you want me to give it a shot just let me know.
Martin offroad makes great racks too

    Thanks for the response!

The rack initially came off a truck that had tipped over, so it’s a bit bent as is, and I had already attempted cutting/extending it (without a welder) a few years back so if it doesn’t end up working out it’s no problem at all. Just wanted to try salvaging it if possible.

It’s probably a pretty perfect first aluminum project for ya. Where are you located? I won’t be back in western MA for about 2 weeks anyway so no rush.

Sounds good, I am right near concord NH. I typically do 50/hr and I think it would be 3-4 hours.

I grew up in Peru - I used to bike down Pierce/Parish Road to the abandoned bridge in Worthington all the time as a kid - fun ride down the hill and around the bends.
