Do they still use the garbage trucks to plow in Detroit or have they stepped up yet?

That's a horrible idea. What time?
It depends on how much snow falls in the city. After a few fiasco's of heavy snow and city services not able to get to some houses, Detroit contracted out snow removal. I think it's six inches or more the relief crews are called in. The contracted crews have 24 hours to get the work done.

I had fun driving home in it. The multiple cars and one semi in the ditch did not though

Getting sporty is a good description. Up here in Midland the snow forecast is 10-15" Friday and Saturday.

And cold, I live about 25 miles from Lake Michigan, lake effect snow can be interesting, depending on wind direction

I hope so...well not so much the ski slope part, but the rest of it. Went to our cabin to check on things and the lake is still not frozen. We're heading to the UP next week to take advantage of winter activities (and actual cold weather) so this timing is perfect.

Don’t ski anymore, but used to work at them. This kind of weather puts a lake at the bottom, they’ll churn it up with the groomer.

So I was expecting more of a dumping but honestly glad it didn’t. The initial heavy snow was very difficult to move for my little kubota (traction/not heavy enough unit).

Nice! I drove all over the place too but not that far. Spent a good portion in the wife’s rav4 hybrid which also does very well in snowy conditions.
