I think this is the route I will take, I didn't move in an HOA and I'm not doing anything on her property.

Ya that can be annoying. Just kill'em with kindness i guess. The only way to not have neighbor problems is to not have any!

Looks like a great place for a new tree line haha

Hopefully she will go away if you ignore her enough.

We're gonna need all the juicy updates though

You have to meet her absurdity with absurdity. I love people like this. You should casually mention the chicken coop or cow pen you were thinking of building right on the property line and how you're unsure about it. Once you plant that in her empty brain anything less should just be fine and dandy you'd think.

Everyone has their quirks. I hate lights on all night, all of my outside lights are on motion sensors. My closest neighbors leave their garage and shop lights on 24/7. They are good people, but it annoys me to have the night ruined by city lights in the country. So a couple years ago I planted a row of large Arborvitae trees on my side of the property line. In another 3 years or so I won't have to see the lights anymore. I've never mentioned my annoyance to my neighbors, it's their property and their power bill. They might very well turn them off, if I asked, but I also prefer to not be confrontational. There are other neighbors to the east that are the same way, but I can only see their lights in the winter when the trees are bare. It seems to be the style these days, to light your property up with flood lights. So all the neighbors can see it when they drive by. The inner me wants to yell at them to get a place in town...:annoyed:

I think I'd have told her something like; you can plant whatever you like on your property. If I can find a better place to park the trailer next time I use it I'll park it elsewhere, but given the ground conditions it'll be a while before that happens. :hattip:

I can tell where that attitude of her was brewing from...her future quests could be an...ugh!! :annoyed:
To hold the line is what I would do.

We don't have any outside lights unless we turn them on. It is so dark and the stars are beautiful.

A few weeks ago there was a meteor shower, it's so dark I came out of the shop walking towards the house and tripped and fell. I said out loud what is that? My daughter said it's me, they were laying in sleeping bags watching the meteors

You have 10 acres to use as you see fit, leave it right there. She can plant whatever she wants on her side of the property line.

I would probably have fun with it and make a sign to put on the trailer. Something about sunsets…

Her being from California explains a lot

"Yeh ideally we'd like a cow, a couple hogs and 3-4 goats but with that prevailing wind it blows right back on us. If I could position their pen where the wind would take it towards you, thatd be perfect."
Say it with a big old cheesy grin. And maybe she won't know if you're half joking or just half crazy.

Keep em on their toes :D

I love the creative ideas, I'd really put some thought into what I told her I was going to do with my property in the future....you're definitely going to need a pistol range, and it appears that the best place for it would be near the camper area, I'm sure she would enjoy listening to you sight in your Hellcat. :):):)

I've been pretty lucky with my neighbors, the guy on the right may skip a few years between mowingo_O but I've been here 31 years and we've never spoken. Not one time.:):):)
My other neighbors are pretty decent, not sure how they feel about me tho. :notsure:

Maybe I'm the guy they complain about on forums :anonymous:

I'd echo what most people on here are saying. It's your property, you may do with it whatever you choose and it will build character for her to figure out how to deal with it. That said, I also believe in "live at peace with everyone as much as it depends on you" so if possible to do non-sarcastically, I'd offer her suggestions for things to plant. (I was thinking of some nice tall grasses myself for some areas in our yard this year)

You're not doing anything just to spite her and she's overreacting for sure, but extending patience for other people's errors is also a loving thing to do. People do that with us sometimes whether we notice or not.

And of course, treat people the way you would want to be treated. It's really tempting to be sarcastic and spiteful especially with nuts, but it probably doesn't improve anything short or long term. It's also a good opportunity to teach character to the kids by demonstrating yours.

That's my 2 cents. All this easier said than done.

She's said something twice now about the smell coming from the stove in the shop. Told my wife it was just pine and maple.

I think that was the last of the power pole ends I cut off when I built the shed :anonymous:

So far all she's heard is .22's, muzzle loaders, and 5 shots from the slug gun. I think it's time to break out the .223 and let Cole sight in the new scope*

Then we'll get the pistols out.

We dealt with bad neighbors at our old property, most of them thought we owed them something because we were making so much money at the store. Not.

I want to get along with our 4 neighbors, (we aren't even close to 3 of them) my wife made them all a pecan pie and took it to them at Christmas. This one is the only one giving any trouble.

You sound like great neighbors. :) I'd love to have you guys as neighbors! man, especially if there's pecan pie in it for me! :hungry:

There's always something or someone to ruin the peace though, or it seems at least.

We're the best neighbors, the best I tell ya :rofl::rofl:

I done some research on small banjo picks and these say "These picks also work excellent for women with more petite fingers".

They are also a lot cheaper than I could try and make some for :D

I know we're different. I can't imagine there's too many other people like me on here. :anonymous: But he asked for opinions, so doesn't it make sense to get some variety? He doesn't have to listen to it.

I still like you too! And I'd be happy to be your neighbor!! I may want some she shed time though.:D:fingerscrossed:
