A ballpark ETA on a 3rd Gen rear bumper would be appreciated also.

I have been out of the office for the Holidays and will start to provide updates again this Friday! A lot of moving parts so I was working on sharing an Excel sheet that shows where each bumper is in the process with estimated dates.

What is your guys' estimate when all the old fulfillment orders are finished? I would be interested in placing an order once they have all been fulfilled

We are producing overstock-on bumpers to have some in stock as we move through each SKU. The sheet I am working on will show rough dates for when we will complete each bumper. If you email me directly at info@sothernstyleoffroad.com I can give you a date for the bumper you are looking for.

Sliders are still in the engineering department, so I would expect those to ship sometime in March. We will cover these lead times in the Excel sheet that we will share with everyone shortly, as well as a few things we are doing that may speed this process up.

Full Plate Front Bumpers with our current backlog will be sometime in April.

this is getting old at this point. Am I the only one who thinks we are just getting a runaround? I agreed to keep my order after I was told my bumper would be shipped by December and ship January the latest. According to the excel sheet I am now hoping by March at best. They made me change the style of my bumper to not a different one I had ordered saying its ok it will be made at the same time wont delay further. Not sure if I even believe that anymore. Ill be deployed at that point. Hopefully I can figure out someone to grab it for me and hold it. So much for having a bumper to mount my winch and light bar to help me in winter. Figured ordering in May would have assured that but guess not.

    I understand your frustration.

I sent an email asking about rear bumpers- as I was directed on here- got the automated “we’ll reply in under 1 business day,” then then got the “how are we doing?” automated email and still no response to the original, approaching a week later.

Hopefully, they are busy cranking out parts, but I’d at least like them to do what they say they’re gonna do.

Has anyone on TW received an SSO part since the new ownership took over?

    Good luck OP.

I have already received part of my order, and have had direct responses to my questions. Why TF would they go to all the trouble of putting out emails, updates on TW, "making up" pictures of already completed parts, and then ship out ancillary parts of orders?

That would make less than no sense. They seem to be under zero financial obligations to fulfill any of these orders, so all of these would make no sense if they were trying to scam people.

    Just my opinion.

First and foremost, we want to extend our sincerest apologies for the delays and the challenges you've faced with your order. We fully understand your frustration, especially given the assurances you were provided regarding the delivery timeline of your bumper. Your feelings of being given a runaround are valid, and we regret any inconvenience this has caused.

When we stepped in to take over from the previous owners, our primary goal was to ensure that every customer had transparent communication and that they would receive a product for the hard-earned money they gave to the old owners of SSO. We acknowledge that this journey has been far from smooth, and we are genuinely doing everything in our power to produce the products and put them in stock for future customers.

Our top priorities are transparency and commitment to each customer, ensuring they get the product they ordered. Despite the absence of 3D files and manufacturing prints from the former owners, we've managed to redesign over half of the product line and have shipped bumpers and wings for the 4runner in less than 90 days. It's been a colossal task, but we willingly undertook to fulfill our promises to customers like yourself.

Regarding your specific order, the shift in the style of your bumper was suggested to streamline the production process and avoid further delays. Though well-intentioned, we understand now that this decision has added to your concerns. We can accommodate you if you want to swap to a different bumper.

We are doing everything possible to expedite the production and shipment of your order. We know you'll be deployed, and we appreciate the additional complexity this adds. Please rest assured that we will work with you to arrange for someone to receive and safely store your bumper upon its arrival.
Our team is dedicated to rectifying these issues and getting our products to you as swiftly as possible. This is why we created an Excel sheet for added transparency and working with additional manufacturers to bring the timelines forward.

We are committed to doing the right thing and ensuring every customer who placed an order with the old owners of SSO receives that product. We apologize for the inconvenience and the stress this has caused. We are here to answer further questions and provide updates as they become available in our weekly updates.

The rear bumpers are currently being produced, and the photos in the last update depict these bumpers. Once they are packaged and shipped out, you will receive an email with your tracking information. As for the messages sent to our support desk, I handle 90% of them myself. I'm not sure what happened with your message, but if you could provide me with your email, I can investigate and provide you with more information.

I thought that may be the case, so I waited to respond to the “how’d we do?” email.

My question was around timeline to 1)open up new orders on rear bumpers, and 2)what’s your ballpark timeline from order to bumper in hand once it’s opened up?

    Thank you.

The Tacoma rear bumpers can be purchased now. It is part number SSO-RBR-03-10, and we are making a few extras. They should ship with the back orders by the end of this month if the order is placed soon.

I get the effort and understand the issues. Just trying to get an answer on how dates keep changing. When I spoke on the phone trying to fix my order I was told the bumpers were being currently welded out and built the 4runners were first and the Tacomas were ready to be welded out right after. So I dont know what changed to now where the tracker you posted shows another 3 months from that date to even hit powder coat?

As for my specific order I see my post was confusing. But your post is my exact concern. I had ordered a 16-23 Tacoma Slimline Front Bumper with bullbar, winch cut outs and 20 inch heise. That was turned into a Full Plate Front Bumper I emailed in with the link from your site to the slimline with cut outs which got changed to a bumper with no winch mounting capability. So I again had to call back and try again after I gave the info again I said I understand I had the heise cut out because at the time I was told this would fit heretic best but I dont mind the universal if it ships my order quicker. They said its no biggie its an easy cut out size difference and they created a new item on the site and changed my order to it saying it will still be done by the end of December. I was told, "We have a bumper that is a "universal fit" for all 20" light bars and we also have a specific cutout for the Heise 20 that fits like a glove." I now dont see the item they had made anymore on the site so I am not even sure what I am getting at this point.

Please send an email to info@southernstyleoffroad.com I am more than willing to hop on a call to review your order and make sure you are getting the bumper that you want and are clear on the one you currently have on order.
