WTF. Those wheels and tires look awful. Looks like they borrowed them from a Camry.

 

I’m not sure if I like the LandCruiser anymore. Those pics remind me of my wife’s old Jeep Patriot.

 

They are pretty lame looking.

 

Was thinking similar. Not even on the showroom floor yet, and already bored with it.

 

Why would you not put nicer tires on a prototype off-road vehicle going to auto shows? Also does it look like the face of those wheels sticks out beyond the sidewall of the tires?

Yeah, the face of the wheel is basically flush with the tire, Tacomas are the same. Horrible if you actually off-road the thing. Guessing with the shared wider frame they are trying to counter that with a positive offset.

 

Just rough them up with a scuff pad or the appropriate grit sandpaper. Bam.

I was being sarcastic. They are beyond terrible. Same as almost every tire Toyota puts on their trucks/suv’s

 

LOL. Yeah, the old GX grill was pretty...interesting.

Here's the next level up in the Land Cruiser trim, which is oddly the Land Cruiser trim, so Land Cruiser Land Cruiser, or Land Cruiser Squared, or Land Land Cruiser Cruiser.



And it has a sister in the 2024 Lexus lineup, the new GX550. The biggest difference is the Land Cruiser uses the hybrid power train shared with the Tacoma, and the GX uses the TT V6 from the Tundra. 6,000 lbs towing for the Land Cruiser and 8,000 lbs for the GX.

 

What's with the transition from the lower front fender to the bumper? Someone ought to come out with triangular coasters to prevent watermarks from the cold ones likely to be perched there.

 

I think the black truck would look better with CHROME fender flares and bumpers instead of that shiny black plastic garbage.

 

That is a strange design. Seems like just a place for water, dirt and ice to collect and rust the bottom of the fender out. Another strange design is the massive box of plastic in the center of the rear bumper. I guess it’s a hitch cover but it looks ridiculous.
