lawyer up! if she barely has enough insurance for your doctor checkups, You might also consider having an attorney go after your own insurance company if she doesn't have enough to cover you.

Man, I'm glad you're doing well. Definitely get checked out by a doc, you never know what's up until you have it checked. The peace of mind of a clean bill of health is worth the cost of the checkup anyway.

Screw the truck - I hope you are okay!

I advise to take some time off & put your physical rehabilitation on the front burner. Your body might thank you, much farther into the future than the truck would have lasted, had it not gotten smashed.

When my Xr was rear ended, it was 16,700$ to fix, just barely below write off and i had zero front end damage. Plus, your rear end looks worse then mine did. There is no way thats not a write off.

    See a doctor

    Document everything

Don't listen to those guys saying "strip parts off your truck and sell them." - part of your damage settlement is going to be signing over your existing truck for scrap, and they'll either ask for those parts back, or take money off your settlement at a rate unfavorable to you.

EDIT - you're gonna have enough trouble getting what's coming to you, without them looking at missing parts and complicating the picture.

Oh man that sucks. If your truck looks that bad what's left of that lady's corolla? that's got to be totaled. Force the insurance to take it and start off fresh with another. That truck will never be the same after damage like that. What did the Tundra and other Taco look like too?

Not that you haven't heard it before but get to a doctor asap. If it just happened and you're sore today, you're gonna be much worse off in a couple days when your muscles start to stiffen up. If it's a back or neck injury that could linger for a long time.

Take care and keep us posted to what happens.

You should have allowed an ambulance take you from the scene. I had a 2002 Nissan Frontier 4x4 (Supercharged) with only 8,000 miles when another driver pulled out in front of me claiming that she didn't see me. My truck was bright red, so I am not sure how she missed me. I had extrememly HEAVY front end damage, but the insurance company wanted to have it fixed. The impact was so hard that it pushed the motor back. The Frontier was inspected by a Nissan dealership. Eventually, the appraiser told the the insurance company that he did not feel comfortable repairing the truck as he was worried that there would be possible issues down the road. I would recommend getting in touch with the appraiser to determine what his thoughts are with the truck in its condition.

Her corolla was trashed, front end was just gone, windshield blown out, I have no idea how she was walking, before she got out her knees were pushed up against the dash. The tundra wasn't bad, scraped the side and bent the bumper a little. The Tacoma in front of me was banged up but drivable, will obviously need a new tailgate and tail lights, etc.. it held up pretty well though. The car in front of him suffered very little damage.

Plasti-dip!!! :D Some people gave me shit for putting 6-7 coats on, but it like you said, it held up well

And thanks everyone for the advice, I think I will be getting a lawyer just in case. This lady could have easily killed someone, I was in a sturdy truck, if she had hit another corolla or small sedan who knows. I'm not looking to sue, sue, sue but I had a nice brand new truck that I loved and that's exactly what I want to end up with, I did nothing wrong, I just want what I had.

I just talked to the witness that works at Sonic. He said the police came by his work around 30 minutes after I had left to take his statement and told him that she was drunk.

    Fuck. That.

Someones looking out for you man. My brother-in-law was killed by a female drunk driver on 3 OCT 2010. I hope they create some harsher penalties for drunk driving offenders.
