    Go for it!!
I bought a CVA on sale at Walmart years ago at lunch time, used it that afternoon and killed a fat doe right under my stand, drug her out, and the next morning, same stand, a big coyote scent trailed her right to the bottom of my tree, he took a dirt nap!!

If you use pellets get triple 7. Is it 209 primer? I use loose powder. 100-110grains.

I wipe out barrel after 2-3 shots. Deep clean after done shooting for the day. Bore butter after its cleaned and dry. You dont need a lot of bore butter. A small tube will last a long time

Yeah 209 primers, comes with a plug for pellets but loose powder plug is like $35-40. Blackhorn 209 looks to be $20 per pound so the plug would pay for itself quick (looks like 80 gr by weight is roughly 100 gr by volume... 7000 gr in a pound so ~90 loads for $20. Also seems like it's a really advanced/clean powder

The eventual plan would be casting something like these at .458 (because I have a 45-70 and the mold could pull double duty one day) https://arsenalmolds.com/products?product_id=201
    Then this...
    https://harvestermuzzleloading.com/...cts/crushed-rib-high-pressure-sabots-50-cal-4

Sabots are $.20 a piece and wheel weights would be free-basically free.

I honestly feel like I can make sabots sleeves from HDPE with a little practice, since I have a good bit of experience with kydex... And my projectiles would cost $.00. man I'm thrifty and it shows lol

This. I don't know about the White Hot powder, but the Blackhorn is top notch stuff. I've never shot enough to foul the barrel nor has not cleaning it at the range ever affected accuracy, and I've let it set two or three days without cleaning with no ill effect. The only problem is finding it anymore.

I watched a video of a guy who let it set for 1,3 and 7 days and it was still ringing the gong at 100 yards. Keep your power dry, flash in the pan l, going off half cocked and or any other black powder related proverbs inserted here

pellets are the way to go for ease of use. Ive used Pyrodex and 777 pellets and never had an issue.260gr. Winchester platnium tip(aka black talon)with 2 Pyrodex pellets.

My Knight Big Horn absolutely loves pellets. I use Pyrodex behind a Hornady SST 250 or 300 gr low drag sabot. Deadly accurate. I see no reason to switch.
