That's not taking into consideration the price of the hybrids. The new Tacoma is already thousands higher, what will the price be for the TRD Pro Hybrid 60? Trailhunter, 62? I think there's a chance they'll be evn more. Honest question here as I haven't seen an answer, will the TRD OR and Sport be available with the Hybrid? If so, I have to think that's a $2,500 option minimum.

No, it is taking into account the price of the hybrids.

Who in their right mind would pay 10k more for a less capable truck in the same class? Toyota has messed up their price structuring and we haven't even gotten to see the really expensive trucks yet.

And yes to your question about the Sport and OR hybrids.

It's just a guess that the Hybrid might add about $4K to the truck. It's close to that in the Tundra. The Tacoma hybrid addon may be a bit cheaper than the Tundra's?

Depends on what kind of other mandatory packages you have to take to get it.

Just like the sway bar disconnect hidden in only the top end packages.

This, highly doubt the Hybrid will be a singular option, it will probably be on top of an already expensive premium package.

What’s the point of having cruise control at all then? Because with normal CC you have to do the same thing?
You’re making a bigger deal out of nothing.

Well peak torque in the taco will come on at 1700 rpm compared 3000 rpm the Chevy. Everyday drivability and off-road performance will be much better for that reason. The whole point is full torque from the EV motor at 0 rpm. Toyota says it can climb a 6% highway grade without the need to downshift. From a performance standpoint I don’t see the problem if it’s still manages the same or better mpg than the outgoing model. 200 more torque and the same efficiency sounds fine to me.

I think Toyota was smart not to chase tow ratings. Anything over 5k is terrible in a midsize. Just buy a full-size if you want to tow.

It does all sound good, but is worth $60K? Fully optioned OR non-Hybrid is at $55K.

If it is going to be automatic, it needs to be better at it.

Point of CC for me at least, keeps my foot out of the throttle. Call it my Self Control, set it to whatever the speed limit is. Otherwise tend to go 10-20 over real easy. Too many speeding tickets and a suspended license in the past is why I use it.

I have seen a lot of reviews stating it is available on TRD Sport and above trims. my bet is it's a $4k-5500 feature :)

I priced out a 2024 Colorada WT 4WD, not in white (so paying extra for paint), with packages: WT Convenience Package, Safety Package, WT Convenience Package II, Advanced Trailering Package, Technology Package. Way too many features to list. Let's just say "very well equipped":

$38,995 including destination fee. Can custom order and get exactly that for MSRP in 6-8 weeks (so I am told).

    Versus ...

Tacoma SR5 4WD Auto with no options except the mandatory $70 deck rails / cleats:

$41,965 including destination fee. Cannot custom order. Has there even been an allocation with no options? LOL. Conclusion - ZERO chance of getting that truck. Add $1,000 for whatever stuff gets added.

Looks like about $4K difference to me in reality, and I think the Colorado will have more toys and doodads as well as more power / torque / tow rating. Bare bones Colorado wins the price comparison by a lot more, understanding that it will have many less features than an SR. Resale value, history says the Toyota will be better. Ditto for reliability. Choices for everyone.

How much extra will you pay for 4Low?

I agree with you that ACC sucks on the 3rd gen. Only time I'll ever use it is on single lane highway stuck behind a line of cars with no hope of passing.

However, newer iterations of it seem to work much better. My wife's RAV4 ACC functions reasonably well imo. Hopefully the 4th gen cruise control is much improved.

Edit: Also it's kinda nice that you can shift gears (MT) and not have cruise cancel out with ACC on. Not nice enough to bother using it though.

Zero. I don't know what it costs, if it has it in one of those packages or it's an extra or what, but that's what I will pay extra LOL. Why don't you tell us, you seem to care. What will you pay in Tacoma for all the Colorado advanced drive modes that come standard in GM trucks? I am not going to go option by option, a serious buyer who cares about their "musts" can do that. Choices for everyone.

The WT and LT don’t have it available. That makes the comparison pretty hard.

Yeah not impressed with it, if I have to hit the coast manually, what is the point? Have heard the 3.0 is better. How much, won’t know until I fiddle with it.

That is the other thing I do not like about the CC and the auto, it will not stay at 25 mph like my old truck with a manual. There are a bunch of small towns here that love to set speed traps, (it is comical really) darn near impossible for me to go 25 without CC.
