Honestly I noticed 0 difference except my air filter intervals got drastically extended.

Some people say if you flip the head around you can hear more but that defeats the overall function of the head design.

For engine sound the HPS tube is going to make the biggest difference. I actually tested mine on a dyno before and after. 5 pulls with it installed were all between 5-7 hrspers over the stock resonator. So you can always argue that with data from one random dude on the internet. Dyno sheet below that I had to screen shot from an old post. I tried to find some pics or a video for you but I must have already moved those to an external Hard Drive.

I did not produce a video as the overall numbers for power and torque were abysmal and embarrassing. Ah ha, I found a pic.

went s&b on mine. love the way it sounds. ive always driven manual vehicles shifting by sound and these trucks are insanely quiet stock so had to do something to make it louder. stock exhaust for now but plan to make a custom equal length y pipe setup some time after the winter. thats how you really get these to sound good imo.

K&N cold air intake , a Doug's Tri Y header and a Eaton M 62 TRD supercharger woke this 3RZ 4cyl up. A added bonus was hearing the blower whine from the K&N cold air kit

I use AEM air filters and swear by them. They are K&N’s sister brand and they have a lifetime warranty, washable, dry air filter that doesn’t require periodic oil applications like the K&N’s do. They kick ass if you ask me. They have cold air intake systems also, but I can’t speak to them personally. I’ve hyperlinked the address below for the cold air intake’s.

They also give a military veteran discount, if eligible, applied over the phone. Bonus!

I like my trd intake BUT can honestly say it’s not worth the money to buy new. I found mine used for $200

If you want actual performance differences there are better bang for your buck options than the intake. Compared to older Tacomas the stock intake on the 3rd gen is already quite optimized, unless you are going forced injection and actually pull enough air flow or just want more intake noise. I have the TRD Intake but only because I got it on sale and with a discount code, I don't regret it but also don't recommend it either.
