Got a warm 34* this morning never got any snow. They say temperature is going to be dropping into the 20's today. And then get really cold.

RADAR CHECK: Areas of rain, freezing rain, and sleet continue over parts of East and South Alabama early this morning; this precipitation will be out of the state by mid-morning, and the sky will clear today.

Roads remain icy and dangerous over much of North, Central, and West Alabama this morning where freezing rain and sleet came down last night. Temperatures remain below freezing today over the northern half of the state, and road conditions won’t improve much until tomorrow when we go above freezing by late morning.

Tomorrow morning will be very cold, with lows in the 5-15 degree range over the northern 2/3 of Alabama. Upper teens are possible all the way down to the Gulf Coast.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY: Clouds will increase Thursday with a high in the 40s. Some light rain is likely late Thursday afternoon and Thursday night… for now it looks like any freezing or frozen precipitation will be just to the north of Alabama. We could see a few flurries on the back side of the system late Thursday night after midnight, but for now no major impact is expected.

Another surge of Arctic air invades the Deep South Friday. The sky will clear with highs in the 30s along with a brisk north wind.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Lows will be in the teens for most of the state Saturday and Sunday morning. North Alabama will stay below freezing all day Saturday. Then, the high Sunday will be in the 40s as a warming trend begins. The air will be dry and we expect a good supply of sunshine both days.

NEXT WEEK: We have a pattern flip, and a big warm up as temperatures reach the 60s over the latter half of the week. The weather will be unsettled with some risk of rain on a daily basis Tuesday through Thursday… See the video briefing for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1990: 1990: Heavy snow fell across Prince Williams Sound and the Susitna Valley of southern Alaska. Valdez was buried under 64.9 inches of snow in less than two days, including a record of 47.5 inches in 24 hours. The heavy snow blocked roads, closed schools, and sunk six vessels in the Valdez harbor under the heavy snow’s weight.

Good morning Brian, be safe and stay warm.
The roads around me don’t seem to bad, but I decided we were not working today. I don’t not to get a call that one of my trucks is in the ditch or worse.

Tacoma to work today I’m guessing? Did you end up getting rid of your car for the Tundra? Enjoy it, I’ve driven both versions. I liked the hybrid more for the instant power for sure. Also drove so many full size trucks but in the end I’m still happy with my first gen sequoia.

Puts me in market for a SXS or couple atvs for funsies now.

You’ve been driving a 4cyl so long your foot is heavy! Just wait until you put 35s on it. Besides smiles per gallon worth more

I’m getting 13mpg with sequoia. Only downside to the 4.7 is I do need to do the timing belt/water pump asap

90hp, diff lock, 3500# synthetic winch, 34s(stock is 29s), small 2” lift plus a few other upgrades like clutch kit and the box in rear.

Would be fun! And weighs less than 1650#
