Now totally geared up to install new 3rd gen leaf springs, new oem shackles, new u-bolts and new bushings on my sons 2012 Taco with 180k+ miles. A total of $225. He is getting tired of the spring and bushing squeaks. Just need a good warm afternoon to do it. He just put new tires on it last week. Still runs and drives like new.(truck picture is from 2021 when it was mine with my old 2016 Sport plates on it) 20240115_154403.jpg20210810_131604.jpg

Did you get the secondary air pump recall done. When they did the 2012 they replaced several components with the recall.

I believe they are. I replaced all 3 with the same ones a while ago.

Installed some Clazzio's and heated seats. Can't quite get the heated seats to work right however, still troubleshooting it. Not much of an electrician but it doesn't seem that difficult to install heated seats, I'm confused as to why they're not working. I think the kit I got is faulty.

Will post pics when I get a chance.

In my experience, owning 3 sets of Clazzio covers, the people there are very friendly and easy to deal with. If you don't get the heaters working then they should take care of you. They have an outstanding reputation.

What fuse are you using? We used the 12 volt outlet in dash with 15 amp fuse.

Unfortunately, I bought from somewhere else, I should have purchased the heaters from them to begin with but I cheaped out and went with a kit on eBay that had factory-like switches.

I agree with their customer service, top notch - they called and confirmed everything and walked me through installation on the phone.

I followed what this person did. Same kit. It has four wires, a wire for the night light, a signal wire to tell if the truck is on, a constant 12v source thats hooked directly to the battery, and a ground. I checked for voltage with key on through the harness, and its showing the same voltage as the battery. I also checked resistance in the pads per the sellers advice and the resistance checked good in all of them. I'm wondering if the switches are bad but I'm unsure.

I have the two signals wires (one for each seat) in the WSH and IGN fuse, and the night light hooked up to the TAIL fuse in the interior fuse box.

why not just mount the res sideways to the frame using the Bilstein supplied parts?
Would be less bend in the hose as well

I mounted the shock reservoir this way for the sole purpose of aesthetics.

It was previously installed sideways to the frame. However, I'm planning to replace the current bracket with Bilstein's Shock Reservoir Mount, which is a beefier and better looking option than the currwnt hardware.

Were the kids and/or adults hauled around in the same fashion as said groceries or the upcoming vehicles you'll be hauling?

Additionally, just a crazy idea, but you could cut the grocery bill to only $50 and put the remainder toward this hitch?? I have a kid though too and he hollers when he doesn't have delicious snacks. So.... maybe no.

New tires and wheels, went with pizza cutters 235/85/16 Toyo's and my favorite rims. I have loved the looks of these rims since my first 4runner

You could try airing down your tires. Or get snow chains.
