Oh cool. I used to work there when it was squaw. This is the first year in like 30 years I didn’t buy a season ticket. Then I realized I should have since day passes are like $160 now. :annoyed::annoyed:

I have an Ikon pass with a student discount and it still came out to $800. Boarding is getting ridiculously expensive now. Northstar and Heavenly are $250 for a damn day pass

There is free parking too, you just need to reserve it on Tuesday at noon for the upcoming weekend. Just had to do this for this weekend

Can you imagine if you wanna go to breakfast and you get there only to find out you need a reservation to park in their lot and that's after you paid in advance? idk. $265 should come with valet parking with free cabin heating at those prices.

I remember going to the Loveland basin at random times after a night shift and they would just give me heavily discounted lift ticket because the slopes were empty on a Tuesday morning.

It's like going on a windy day. Or maybe was. I don't know, maybe it's the consolidation and public company nature of Ski companies that's driving the cost of skiing up? Vail Resorts owns 41 resorts including Northstar, Heavenly, and Kirkwood. Alterra owns a few as well including Palisades, Alpine, Mammoth, June Lake, and I'm sure others.

When they start moving in, they develop the place. Look at State Line or even the new "village" at Mammoth.

Yep. I've been working up there for 18 years now. It's always been a wealthy town by East Side standards. Since Alterra bought the mountain it's quickly becoming a really wealthy town by US standards. The amount of money that's poured into town the last 5 years is truly insane. lol

Agreed 200%. Aired down to 9 PSI on my non beadlock SCS wheels and it was fine up in MET. And then on the highway I was fine with my normal 35 - 40PSI

Honestly, best way to figure it out is go find an empty lot and try driving around. Try 2wd and 4wd, try braking, turning, accelerating, accelerating while turning, braking while turning. Just don't act like a hooligan and if a cop comes by tell them it's your first time in snow and ice and you're trying to figure out how to control the vehicle safely. I've never run into issues and you'll learn to feel understeer, oversteer, how your abs/lack of abs feels, and you can mess with the weight transfers and neutral balance.
    https://youtu.be/AG77LgcnfQg?si=ZvhXkAB5yKCB5IhJ
You'll see what I mean pretty quick.

    https://youtube.com/shorts/ldotRnLeR1w?si=x8wJBBdQVyfqQfLx

For example, braking while turning or turning then braking will create understeer. Braking puts more weight up front and the suspension compresses, depending on when these forces are applied it make the rear light and can cause a slide.
    https://youtube.com/shorts/RMemvZAViyY?si=ChGb7guamQ-0Pcg_
If you brake before the turn and pick your angle while releasing braking pressure and apply throttle you can get oversteer but his is the best way to approach a turn as oversteer is easier to control using throttle control, understeer is almost impossible to control.

An advanced example is the Scandinavian flick is a rally move where if you are coming to a right hand turn you turn left first, then right and apply braking pressure to transfer weight forward and swing the tail left to create oversteer to drift the corner
