I bought the Garmin Mini Dashcam ($99) + the power adapter ($29) + 64G mini storage.

You've got quite a bit of coverage!

Another vote for the garmins. I have had a few different ones over the years and they have all worked great. I currently have the tandum in two cars.

Has anyone tried the FITCAMX Dash Cam? I see their camera is integrated into a cover/housing that replaces the one behind the rear view mirror. Looks OEM. Not sure about the video quality though.

I have no experience with this but I did look up reviews on Amazon. One reviewer said you can't see license plates of cars unless they're directly in front of the vehicle.

The reviewer is probably correct. Mine cannot see a plate clearly even 10 ft ahead in the next lane, even at 4k. Photographic equipment to see printing is a slightly different focus from "big objects" and I think dashcams are (conspiracy theory!) designed not to. This is mine. People want them to record the full identity of anyone who tailgates or cuts rapidly in traffic in front of them. If you want that, hire someone to constantly take movies in the vehicle with you with a real movie camera.

Here's a video from last week when I noticed a car weaving in and out of traffic

Turns out the guy was totally wasted

Managed to corner him in a parking lot and took his keys cause there was no way I was gunna let him back on the road in his condition

4 counts of DWI and license suspended until trail date this week

I picked up the Garmin 2, Dongar power connection to the rearview mirror and the recommended Simm card for around $175 from Dongar. Easy install.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I have a Rexing front and rear camera set up. Good pics and video, but the app absolutely sucks. I would avoid Rexing until they fix the app. The phone simply will not connect and I have to pull the card and take it to the computer to get video. Kind of defeats the purpose.

    Definitely get one!
I got a cheap one pita to view vids if needed/wanted.
But I was T-boned and had video showing it was other driver ran light.
He admitted it was his fault but I had proof at least if needed.
My Taco was totaled and so was his car.
Thinking about getting a better one I’d definitely spend some coin and get a good one that can send video to my phone.

I’ll be going thru posts here for opinions.
