Anyone know where to find this hose? I’ve looked it up a bunch and can’t find one sold without the rest of the line where it turns into metal line. Part name or number for just the rubber line? Thanks y’all

I just broke down and bought the whole assembly. You could probably get a length of rubber hose from any auto store and just swap it out. Good Luck!

yeah I was thinking that. anyone know if this would be a bad idea? I don’t see why it would matter if I just bought new hose and made it myself. As long as I keep it away from any moving parts like the fan or belt

Just avoid coolant hose or any rubber hose not made for either fuel or oil.

I replaced my entire PS loop with transmission hose. I can't remember what size off the top of my head, take the trashed line in to the parts store and have them cut you a hank. Don't forget new hose clamps - get stainless, but look carefully as a lot of "stainless" eorm clamps have a carbon screw in a stainless band.

I replaced the entire thing, made the install a lot easier and didn't have to fight trying to putting hoses on or off. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of gold if a problem pops up.

Thanks for the tip, is carbon not good for high heat situations I’m assuming?

Rust! If the band is stainless but the worm screw isn't, the worm screw will corrode anyway, defeating the purpose of using stainless hardware.

If you live in a Salt state it's IMO worth it to replace the factory PS loop, including the hard lines, with hose. Fewer connections to leak and the hard lines (both PS and trans cooler if you are so equipped) WILL develop pinhole leaks, so if you're opening the system up anyway and having to deal with refilling fluid, do it all at once and be done with the PS for 10 years or more.

Toyota uses segments of hard line in certain places to make factory assembly easier - there's no mechanical benefit to having them. Anywhere the hard lines are bolted to the truck, just use the bolt hole for a zip tie to hold the new hose in place.

This is a good time to replace your PS fluid with fresh - these trucks use Dexron III ATF as PS fluid. When you go to change the lines, suck the reservoir dry with a siphon or a turkey baster, replace your lines, and fill with fresh, making sure to turn the truck on and let it run to fill the lines and evacuate air, then top off the reservoir.

There is a benefit to using oem formed hoses, keep them out of harms way.

If you can find a place that specializes in just hoses, sometimes I’ll see they have a spring you put on, then bend the spring to shape to form however you need to.

As far as what type of hose, use hose specifically for oil. Available from any automotive parts store.

I need hose this id, this long. What for? Power steering fluid. They should give you the correct hose, if it says for water or coolant, they didn’t.
