Get your deposit and hold off. Way off. I would just stick with the vehicles y’all already have for awhile.

Toyota definitely doesn’t have their act together on the Tacoma, Land Cruiser, GX, 4Runner, etc.

    Yeah they are.

The whole showboating banter was sarcasm. Sorry if I took it too far.

And yes I like spartan. Do like showboating too, but wouldn’t pick a Tacoma. They are a dime a dozen, want a bunch of middle aged dudes swarming you at the gas station??? get something a bit more rare.

Obviously Icons are ungodly expensive, would have to build it myself. Alias there are more important things to spend money on than trying to look cool.

Yep couldn’t go wrong with either, and widely available parts and service.

You may wanna check out the round the world thread in the 3rd gen forum...its going on 2-3 years now I think and nothing out of the ordinary and I'm sure his rig is way over payload..lol. Still in Africa I think last time I checked it. seeing his experience with that combo is why I think it would not be a bad combo.

If you haven't read it, its a sticky in the 3rd gen thread. Awesome pics!!!

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/driving-a-tacoma-around-the-world.585792/

I think he will get back what he needs on that Ineios, currently their capacity is 34K units a year and as of Dec the current waiting list is 6-9 months

Don’t think Taco Buffet even goes in the dirt, judging by how clean he keeps his Thurd Gen.

Thats true, but if you want to build it here in the US you care kinda limited since you can't start off with a new foreign land cruiser or Hilux, especially if you want to customize it to and take it with you from country to country etc.

But yes, all kinds of vehicles have been used to "overland" the world. I've always been partial to motorcycles, but they have their drawbacks for sure.

Have been following that thread from time to time. Hasn’t broken down too much, but still always wanted a LC70, ya know. :) There was a Troop carrier I spied in the Cabelas parking lot, oh man…made my heart skip a beat. We get all kinds of cool rigs passing through here. There is also a luxury auto dealer down the road from us, he’ll get Earth Roamers and Global Expedition Vehicles from time to time. Little too big for my taste, cool nonetheless.

You are probably right. There is a great video on the first production Land Rover to roll off the line that was restored.

That is more the way I want to do it, not sure if I could convince the wife. Husky 901, load up the panniers and go.

    RTW on a husky?

Parts availability and reliability suddenly not an issue?

First year is going to silly, most likely spill into the second year. All the while they are discounting the Tundra.

I've done the US for a couple of months on a Triumph Scrambler, and rented a few bikes overseas but haven't taken off and crossed borders..yet.

I'm gonna bet the dealer you ordered that 24 from had a change of heart and sold to someone else and added ADM to it.
