    ??

My old Corolla had a CEL independent of the ABS/trac light. Ended up being bad ignition coil
    Never assume

Remain calm, they’ll get it sorted out

But I would start considering a new car. Issues tend to start stacking up at this point

I can't afford a new car; I just need this truck to last me another year or so, and honestly I'm not impressed with newer vehicles anyway. The safety features are great, but the 2023 Tacoma that I've been driving for a week has this annoying nanny state system that locks me out of controlling my iPod through the radio while the truck is going more than 5 MPH. The transmission shifts like shit, too...

I cannot imagine what could possibly fail next in my truck, as everything major short of the transmission seems to have been replaced; I've been told that I'm good until 300K. The one thing I am willing to spend a fortune repairing, no matter what, is the air-conditioner.

    I get it

Just remember, you’ll get a lot more for a fully functioning truck then if you wait till it breaks again. Would be a nice down payment on a Corolla or such.

Weigh the pros and cons long term. Cars are not getting cheaper

What do you have plans for in a year or so?
I don’t think your issue is a big deal. They will figure it out.
If the transmission was serviced at least minimally, it should go another 100k or so.

His savings on gas will make hauling scrap unnecessary

I want to save up and buy another truck; I am not impressed with the 4th Gen Taco and have actually been doing research on the latest Nissan Frontier; 3.8L V6 and all of the safety features I want are standard, and it is way cheaper than the Tacoma. I also have a line on a 2015 Tacoma access Cab TRD Sport with less than 60K miles, but I would just save and pay cash for something that old...

He’s helped move a half dozen people in the last couple years.
Guess those people will have to find a new “mover”.

It's gonna be a truck, or possibly an SUV; I really don't want a car...

If the Nissans are same now as they were in 2010-2017ish, it won’t last 150k.

I plan on getting the job situation dealt with in the next two weeks so I'm not doing DoorDash; I would like to keep my current truck and buy something newer, and @Stitchgirl90 drives my truck and pays the insurance while I drive the newer vehicle...

All Toyota SUVs and Trucks have that issue.
My dad Ram with a 5.7L gets as and better than my Tacoma.
I’m running my truck until it dies. But I won’t be buying another Tacoma.
    I’m going full size.

I've always liked Frontiers. Almost bought one instead of my Tacoma a long time ago. The new ones seem like they might be the best kept secret in the midsize truck market given what you get for the money.

That's the reason I went full size in 2018. And why I moved away from Toyota. At the time, the Tundra got 6 MPG less than an F-150.

I considered a Tundra again this time around, but there were a lot of things I didn't like about it. The Fords aren't perfect and I've had my share of issues with them, but I've got to give them credit - they know what customers want and deliver. On-board generator, 570 ft-lbs of torque, 23 MPG, it's an amazing machine.
