I’ve seen a few of those blogs/accounts. Just poking fun.

There are a few rides I still want to do here first. We have done Baja a bunch, most everyone is on KTM/Huskys now, getting parts is a non-issue, someone will have spares. Their World wide dealer network is probably the best now, no problem for around the globe travel.

Very good friend of mine was doing one of the BDR routes on a Triumph Tiger, it had a weird little issue that made it fail, called the dealer, they wouldn’t tell him how to fix it trailside , wanted him to take in. Ended up being a clogged port or something. That dealer interaction piss him off enough never to buy a Triumph again. On a KTM 890 now and loves it, that or BMW and I think you’ll be alright. New GS looks awfully sweet.

The BMWs sure do handle better than the KTMs.

2024 R 1300 is certainly bad ass. (Better shut my mouth before I get into trouble again though…. :D )

Insulting prices, configurator puzzles, information drip, now missing trucks? You really should send Toyota a thank you note.

Like a lot of others, I like Gen4. And….I’d wait a (long) while before even considering buying one.

This is one of the reasons I'll never attempt to "order" a brand new vehicle again. Something always goes sideways, no one ever has answers, and the customer with the money on the line suffers for it. Thankfully you got your deposit refunded, and I think I remember you saying you contracted something up to ensure you would, but many never do. The car buying experience is such a hassle, even if you're really experienced and good at it.. Its why I won't ever sign or put money down on anything that I can't physically see in front of me on the lot and drive for myself. This definitely sucks, but in a handful of months from now, maybe you'll look back on it and realize you dodged a really big bullet.

This probably explains why the three vehicles that had been showing up on my local dealer's site are gonzo. A glitchy roll out for the new Tacoma.

It’s going to be a shit show here for the first year or so. Some people get off trying to buy the latest and greatest right off the bat.

Better off waiting, end of the day it just a stupid truck.

It really depends what you are ordering, and the car maker. Toyota clearly doesn’t give a shit what I think. They are perfectly happy with their massive carmaker distributor model. It’s totally focused on volume and profit. They are number one for a reason and it isn’t the owner experience.

Brand new platform, better of waiting even until 2026 MY. Assuming there are going to be some growing pains like the Tundra. 3rd Gen had issues the few years of production too.

Could always pay cash (if your finances allow) and not worry about interest rates.

Exactly why I'd rather have a vehicle right in front of me when deciding to spend my hard earned money. From any maker that is, not just Toyota. Dealers from all flavors and smells are in the same business; money. I learned the hard way from another carmaker, don't commit to things that don't exist, or potentially don't exist. Put more money than I'd like down on a vehicle that never showed, went without a car because of it for a short season, and won't ever do that again. Plus, putting some butt time in a vehicle before signing papers ensures you're not like the thousands upon thousands of upset 3rd genners about a ECU/trans that doesn't know what it wants. One test drive puts that on your radar.

Meanwhile on the other forum, some people have more money than sense.
