Only time I seen that happen was in a Ford Escape.
Neighbors transmission went to slipping, towed the truck home. Transmission full of coolant.

They stuck the new engine in, but now I’m thinking it was 2020? They sold the old truck with new engine and transmission for a year or two. Odd but it’s Nissan, soooooo
Then they had the whole new truck in 22

Not that it’s bad, seems to be pretty good actually, but the 4.0 with 5 speed auto are really reliable. Stick shift ain’t bad either, but goes through clutches more than it should

So why don’t you buy it at auction then? Sell your single cab privately! My cousin got 25k for his 2012 single cab 4x4 stick last year!

Also, unless you get it done under warranty, no freaking way I would pay to have the timing cover re-sealed the “proper” way! Unless it is a gushing leak (it’s probably more of a seep, right?), you just remove the belt and PS pump, clean the area real good, and seal from the outside with grey PTex. Wait a day before running the engine. I’ve done this on my 2007 four years ago. But it’s slowly starting to seep again. Oh well, I’ll do it again maybe soon. About 250k on the clock now. It’ll get a V8 swap before any major engine work lol.

It was leaking so bad everything was covered all the way to the rear diff. The truck ended up being neglected.

The fan does blow it all over. It’s the engine’s way to try and provide the rust proofing Toyota failed so miserably at.

That and I don't need a project truck with a baby about to be born.
