It's a new year, Shane...we got faces to put smiles on.

 

It had a good run, at least it won't cost as much to ship since it's a raisin now.

No, but we used their facilities a lot for training. I knew some of the guys over there but at this point they're likely somewhere else.

 

I agree they will probably not want to get involved with mediating the accident.

I would approach it like this, they have a video system for the safety and security of the business and employees. The video may have evidence to a violation of the safety of an employee's private property that is entrusted to the secured property of the business. Said video will also be evidence to a criminal act (leaving the scene of an accident with property damage) that occurred on the business property. As the victim employee Mrs. Greene should have rights to a copy of the accident video for relief from her damaged private property.

If you can identify the suspect vehicle you then have evidence to show them of the unfortunate accident they caused and offer them a chance to correct the problem without getting local law enforcement involved.

Disclaimer: I am not an attorney but I’ve dealt with a lot over the years and they always talk like this.

Well, if your work is anything like mine people rarely do your work when you are not there so you have the same amount of work to get through in a 4 day work week than you do in a 5 day work week. Just less time to do it!

I appreciate your point of view.

In my experience with factories when a (lowly) employee approaches The Company with a situation like this they get told:

"We will check the tape, you can't see it for privacy/security reasons"
"It will take hours of searching" (implied: our valuable time)
...days later after several inquiries...
"No sorry - it wasn't caught by the cameras, there isn't good coverage in that area"

If The Company is curious about something however it is surprising how good the coverage is and how quickly a moment can be pinpointed.

 

I did the four 10 hour schedule for years.

On the surface it sounds good, 6 to 4:30 and "get Friday off" coming from 6 to 2:30 five days.

The problem comes with actually getting things done like:
banking
insurance
DMV
doctor or dentist appointments
getting your vehicle serviced
anything involving calling & getting returned calls
a haircut
meeting with a contractor
and on and on...

Leaving at 2:30 you can chip away at this stuff during the week, on the four 10 schedule you are trying to pack it all in on Fridays.

If you work in an industry where overtime is required it will be at least 1/2 day Friday which really causes problems.
